Sony is now taking a further step in protecting the security of the PS3. They've already took Geohot to court, and now plan on hunting down other hackers, firmware developers, and program creators. It's even rumored that Sony is checking sites like xxx-Scene, YouTube, Twitter, PayPal, and Slashdot to find the identities of the hackers who are continuously releasing and creating programs that further exploit the PlayStation 3.

Some of the big name hackers they're going after are Kmeaw, Wanikoko, KaKaRoTo, and Graf Chokolo who is currently working on returning Linux to the PS3.

Download and take a closer look at the legal documents below to get more details.

Good for sony......take down these hackers. And for all you people saying quote"butthurt" think about it this way. If you were a member of a billion dollar industry wuld u want some jackass bitch playing with your OS+homebrew and then going on to release a signed ftp server. No......This is a major act against the T.O.S. And many of you are like well its our product I can do whatever I like. Yes, you can you bought the product, however sony developed the ps3 so anything that relates to sony for example playstation network they can prohibit you from for violating the T.O.S. I hope for a better future for the ps4.....cmon sony

I don't understand how I'm a "wanna-be employee". I'm sorry that I don't downloaded files off the internet and claim I'm a hacker like yourself.

Well, I did not even stated about "how hard learning to hack is", I compared my statement to the rabbit one as a analogy (in case you have not suspected while reading my post) as I did not indicated animal to hackers in a literal way. As for your claim on "there's not that many legit hackers out there", do you statistical proof on this matter which you are trying to reason with? I am saying "hackers" in an more broad sense than stating to only "sony bypassing" for again, which I did not even elaborated those words in my post. For your illegitimate assumptions on "you need to realize how much learning you have to do to actually hack", I have more than enough experience in field of information systems than you could possibly have in the last 15 years (including my bachelors in CIS/with minor in business management, with many many on-the-job experience including some database IT firms w/CCIE and CCNA certificates). I ask you, do you even have any experience (I meant real 'on-the-job' experiences) in computer programming such as Borland Delphi, Pascal, APL, JScript, IBM Informix-4GL (in retrospect, this method is not being learnt anymore in terms of binding SQL functions), SQL servers ASP+, etc.? (which truthfully, spent many years for each language including today still learning and improving on my skills) If you do, I like you to decompile or form a new processes given by my direction, if not I suggest you to keep your illegitimate assumptions to yourself before discussing to anyone without any prior knowledge of that persons'. For these type of "bypassing", the correct term is more likely "cracker", and of course, a computer programming language is like a new language (almost all computer programmers or informational IT systems analyst such as myself knows it doesn't take "overnight"). There are many "hackers" or people who are capable to do so out there (there is no need for statistical proof on this matter as it is always in exponential growth which means 'loss of track' for a simple census to be taken accounted for), it is like a black market of worlds arms dealer (another analogy; 'worlds arms dealer' is a non literal reference to broad types of 'hackers'Winky Winky, you can't simply get rid of all these 'arm dealers' entities out, there are already many people 'lined up' to take place of those who got ridden out from this 'black market' ('black market' is also an non literal analogy to the 'informational world'Winky Winky . You might think there are only few 'legit hackers' in certain sectors of 'hacking', but in reality, there are alot more than you can encounter; just some of them keeps a low profile or not even publish their 'efforts' to the world.

So lesson of my whole argument: Making Assumptions and/or stating ignorance is a grave mistake when you don't know that person in its entirety, and there are many broad types of hackers out there then you think there are limited amount of 'legit hackers'.

Again for quod erat faciendum:
Your sense of intelligence is as dull as your dumbfounded stupidity -Smushpie

Do not try to reason my argument without valid substantiations, fin :n00b:

tl;dr.

Anyways, I read the first few lines and all I have to say is -- YOU NEED TO BE SPECIFIC. When you're going to use an anaolgy like that, you're going to have to be specific like I said. Also, it's common sense about being such limited "legit" hackers.

everyone seems surprised by this, i said it in a thread like 2 weeks ago that this would happen, sony isnt taking no more shit from people customizing their coding and console software. any one surprised by this, truly is, naive. and i bet the next step for sony, is to make bans worse with next firmware release.sony is the biggest electronics corporation in the world, they wont sit idly and let people destroy the system they took so long to make for us to play games on. piracy isnt cool. hacking is fine to an extent, depending on how far people go with it. challenge lobbies, leaderboard hacks, gold guns, cfw's, all this is technically illegal once you accept the TOS from sony. as an example: challenge lobbies: everyone trend whored right to them, and now look at the situation, cod 4, mw2 are now littered with kids who heard from a friend who heard from a friend that they can do challenge lobbies, now everyone does it, try finding a lobby on cod 4 thats legit, or finding a lobby on mw2 thats legit and you dont derank...its getting worse, and gaming as a whole will suffer because of this. i am in no way complaining, just stating obvious facts..
