Following the tragic massacre in Norway, Call of Duty has been pulled from two major retailers. Not only has Call of Duty been removed from shelves, but other violent first person shooters have also been pulled.

One of the stores, called Coop, made a statement saying:

Call of Duty: Black Ops, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, Call of Duty: World at War Platinum, Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare Classic, Homefront, Sniper: Ghost Warrior, Counter-Strike Source, and World of Warcraft have all been pulled from the store shelves at Coop.

Another store chain called Platekompaniet has also removed various shooters and other games from it's shelves.

Although the shooter from the incident, Anders Breivik, stated he had very little interest in first person shooters, he did state:

[Modern Warfare 2 was] "part of my training simulation…You can more or less completely simulate actual operations."

Breivik did spend a lot of time using video games, but he was more geared towards RPGs and fantasy titles. He was a self proclaimed World of Warcraft addict. It is believed he made the claims of addiction to cover up the time he spent meticulously planning his attack.

So what are your opinions? Do you think that these games should have been pulled due to the attack? Are his claims that he used violent, first person shooters to plan his attack justification enough to deprive consumers of a product that they have the right to purchase?

Yes it is a theory.
I apologize I was tired :p

However I still insist I'm not trolling.
I don't believe al Qaeda exists.

I by my nature am a skeptic.

I however understand why you don't believe me.
It is a very convincing cover up.

Why are your men overseas called "heroes"?
They have done nothing to help your country.

I think this is getting off topic though. And I would be interested to hear your opinions via PM.

Thanks.

Even if I were to PM you, this honestly wouldn't go on too long, and here's why (this whole post is intended to be light-hearted, btw :p):

- I never said anything about those men and woman overseas being my heroes, nor have I said that they have done anything for my country (although I strongly disagree that they haven't, and this is coming from someone who thinks war is absolutely retrogressive and pointless).

- Al Qaeda DOES exist. It doesn't matter if the CIA trained them, because even then they still have a purpose (to be a cover-up), and therefore must exist. It's a group of people with similar if not the same intentions, like the SWAT team. Their intents, as I've said before, are up to interpretation.

And, honestly, Al Qaeda being a cover-up is quite unlikely and makes no sense. Have you ever seen the South Park episode where Stan shits in the urinal?

As Many People Have Said Before, I Do Also Go Against The Claim Of Violent Video-Games Provoking Violence. :n: You Don't Play Call Of Duty, And Then Get The Inspiration To Go On The Streets And Shoot At The Public Do You? It's People's Extreme Views Which Lead To Events Like These.

Coop is not a video game store. It's a huge shopping center with all kinds of stuff. A bit like wallmart. I understand where they are coming from but when Anders Breivik blamed the video games he was probably told to do it by his lawyer. Yes he did play those games. But if he manages to blame the games for actions, he can be qualified as mentally disturbed and get less time in jail. Still the major companies like Gamestop, Platekompaniet, GAME and spaceworld will keep selling these games. And if 'shit hits the fan' I can always order my games from Sweden. As it is cheaper as well. :p
