Sony has just released the newest version of PlayStation Network (PSN). This new version is version 4.0 and its main goal is to support the PSVita, which will be released in Japan on December 17th, 2011. The update only brings two new features to the PlayStation 3.

This update is a bit disappointing specially since it's labeled PlayStation Network 4.0 and I was expecting some new exciting features that we would be able to brag about to our Xbox friends. It's also not that exciting since US and EU have to wait until February 2012 for the PSVita so this update is basically pointless to any PSN user outside of Japan. What do you guys think of the new update?

First of all, PS3 has a warranty just as long as the xbox 360, secondly, you pay £128 in the UK when it breaks if your warranty has run out, this doesn't add to the PS3 sales.

Both the xbox 360 and PS3 run 1080p, but PS3 runs Bluray discs, Bluray discs hold 50gb of memory, whereas the standard CD's the xbox hold much less, 13.7gb to my belief.

The PS3's memory (RAM) is "256MB XDR Main RAM and 256MB GDDR3 VRAM".
The xbox 360's is "512 MB GDDR3 RAM ".
As you can see their memory is pretty much the same.

The Xbox Live servers have been down previously, not for maintenance, but it went down for a total of 13 days in 2009.
You can still stay on the PSN servers when they go down for maintenance, if you are on before they go down.

The only thing that you are correct about is the Memory (256, 512) but here: there is a call on youtube where he has warrenty but sony does not cover warrently for YOLD.

Multi-platform games (games on PS3 and Xbox) on PS3 only use 6.8 GB because the Xbox discs can't hold much more than that. If you look at a PS3 exclusive game like Killzone 3, I think it was 40 GB in size. I remember downloading Little Big Planet 2 and that was around 17GB. If Xbox used Blu-ray or had another way of having more space on their discs game companies could, and would, use all that extra space. So basically Xbox holds them back.

I'm also not sure why you're saying Xbox graphics are so much better. There are only very small almost completely unnoticeable differences (IMO) between Xbox and PS3 like small lighting differences with some games. I actually think PS3 exclusives can top Xbox with graphics, but I also think that goes back to the amount of space on the discs. The better looking the graphics are the more space they are going to take up, so PS3 exclusive game developers can utilize the extra space to improve the graphics.

I'm an Xbox fanboy too btw. XBOX FTW! I'm just a little more informed rather than just tossing facts out of my ass and calling others dumbasses.

People don't really care about the graphic differences between those two. They are only using it for arguments in PS3 vs Xbox 360 fights. It's ridicolous :p
The developers are probably laughing about that part of the gaming community today.

First of all, the Xbox incorperates that of a DVD which maxes out at 480p while blu-ray is 1080p. There are two high definitions on two standards.

Next, if you know anything about hardware you would know that even if something has 8gb it doesn't make it faster. Hell, sometimes 4 is faster than 8 depending upon the other hardware. Also, the information you provided about the Xbpx and the PS3 are wrong as well as the fact that they are two entirely different pieces of hardware that work in different ways.

The Xbox online services don't go down because it requires payment however the PS3 hardly ever goes down except for that of maintance.

Now, the Xbox was hacked before the PS3, has been hacked more times than the PS3 and actually has hacks out for it for more recent updated versions while the PS3 hasn't actually had a good jailbreak or anything close in a year.

The only reason why the Ps3 went down mid last year was the fact that they found a back-door using the jailbreak, without that, Sony's servers would never have gone down.

PS3 = 500+ MODDED MW2 LOBBY's (AS OF ****ING TODAY)

Sony do replace consoles with YLOD if they are still under warranty, I have had two that have broke from YLOD and they have replaced both free of charge.

Xbox graphics aren't better :L Look at the graphics on a PS3 exclusive like Uncharted 3 compared to an Xbox exclusive like Halo.

The Xbox doesn't have a lifetime warranty for RROD at all, it has 3 years warranty.

I don't leave my console on, since I hardly use my PS3 for gaming anymore, but I'm saying that people can leave their PS3 on when signed into PSN when scheduled maintenance takes place. And who are you called a "DumbFag"? Look at your spellings, grammar and information.

Red Dead Redemption was made to run on the Xbox you idiot, though PS3 has the exact same graphics as games that are also on the Xbox.

The Xbox has been hacked much more than the PS3 /facepalm Doesn't matter whether those mods will go online or not, and as far as I'm aware, PS3 mods can't go online anymore?

I'm not fanboying the PS3 or anything, but everything you're saying is completely wrong :L

Oh, and if I go on a forum dedicated to the Xbox, I guarantee you I could get into a Modded Lobby so easily within 5 minutes.
