Post: Beyond 2.12 - What still works, and what doesn't.

(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Could we use this thread to track what the effects of 2.12 are? For the public interest. I'll keep the OP updated as news comes in.

We know that:
- Cars with hybrid parts (chassis, drivetrains) have been returned to stock.
- Car data now read from game data, rather than save data.
- X2010 JP no longer displayed.
- Special Gift items, (such as the L4/L5 turbos, L4/L5 weight reduction and triple plate clutch) can still be applied.
- Special tyres (RSS, SSS, (C), (V)) still usable.
- BHP multiplier no longer in effect.


Can someone confirm if :

- Stock cars with HP/Grip multipliers are affected.
- Settings changed beyond standard range are affected (Downforce/ridge height/etc)
- Gift items are affected
- Gift tickets are affected
- Money/XP levels have been altered
- Anything else?

Mind sharing how? Lowering rideheight and editing downforce is of particular interest out of the points you mentioned possible :-)

I can edit the downforce on the gt5 editor and in HxD, ride height seem to only work if i hex it. For the stealth and chromeline cars I just bought the normal version of the cars, then hexed the values to that of the stealth/chromeline cars. Been playing online with them for a while now and all still work perfect.

I'm curious why these changes work in HxD but not using the editor. Does the editor write the file out differently? Maybe that's the key to bypassing the 2.12 mod checks (it's a thought).

I'm just sticking to 2.11. I think they're finished supporting GT5 and the servers will be done shortly after GT6 comes out. So, I'm just jumping ship now.

I had quite a few cars, and this is what wasn't affected:

Removed S14 bumper, still gone
S14 default color, pitch pitch black, still pitch pitch black

That's it, lol.

- Settings changed beyond standard range are affected (Downforce/ridge height/etc) you can drop the DF to zero I dont think you can add more than the car allows in the game. you cant chance ride height. on a car without a trans (tank car or electric cars) you can change trans settings.
- Gift items are affected all gift items work except Nitro
- Gift tickets are affected All gift cars work Except XXXXXXX and JP Flag Color
- Money/XP levels have been altered Level change,money change,all events gold all work just fine.
- Anything else? you can still change what kinda car is in a white ticket so you can send any car.


Hey, I've seen your videos on Youtube, very helpful. Is lowering the car still the same process as before?

How is it different now? I've been trying to lower cars all day, but so far nothing.

Just one question, how do they cheat again in TT 63? In the time trial with 480 there is a bug with tyre, so ok, i undestand. But in the 880 pp with the FGT how do they can? Apparently there isn't any bug. Can someone explain me? Thank you.
