(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Hii

I have a console.. was working fine, managed to downgrade sucessfully and convert to dex without any issues..

Put it on rebug 4.75.3 drex.. turned it off for 30 mins, turned it back on now it YLOD and shuts off...

CANNOT BE THERMAL PASTE AS I HAVE ALREADY REAPPLIED PASTE

Stops shutting off when I take the HDD out..

So i bought a new HDD.. install firmware on it.. now it boots up again fine..

turn it off for half an hour or so.. turn it back on and it YLOD's and turns off again..

Why is the HDD's causing this? its like something is writing to them before they shut down :/

shall i try different firmware? could the HDD port be dodgey?

Willing to pay if someone can solve this.. baffled me.. been trying to find a fix for the last 48 hours..

changed psu also.. same problemm

So, the HDD is the problem causing it you say?

If so, I think I have a mini-resolution.

Well i can get it working by formatting the HDD reinstalling 4.75.3 on there.. but then when i shut it off and turn it back on it YLOD's again.. like i said i think something is writing to the HDD when i turn it off.. Tried a brand new 250gb 7200rpm and the original 120 gb 5400rpm hdd

100% HDD related

So, it gets YLOD when you get it to that point and etc. Is there any loops?

What you mean by loops..

the only loop ive done is format the hdd. reinstall firmware.. works fine. shut it off . turn back on YLOD..

tried new psu.. reapplied thermal paste (even tho thats 100% not the problem)

idk what else to try

going to attempt to transplant a new hdd port onto the motherboard at this rate

Try using a computer to power the hdd and link a data. Cable to the ps3

^verify the hdd working on something else.

Im sure it is software related and not an actual component issue. You say it stops shutting off when you take the hdd out, that because its no longer reading whatever was on it. Which is why it is fine with a format..

Is it possible you did something wrong on the dex conversion or something?
