(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Hii

I have a console.. was working fine, managed to downgrade sucessfully and convert to dex without any issues..

Put it on rebug 4.75.3 drex.. turned it off for 30 mins, turned it back on now it YLOD and shuts off...

CANNOT BE THERMAL PASTE AS I HAVE ALREADY REAPPLIED PASTE

Stops shutting off when I take the HDD out..

So i bought a new HDD.. install firmware on it.. now it boots up again fine..

turn it off for half an hour or so.. turn it back on and it YLOD's and turns off again..

Why is the HDD's causing this? its like something is writing to them before they shut down :/

shall i try different firmware? could the HDD port be dodgey?

Willing to pay if someone can solve this.. baffled me.. been trying to find a fix for the last 48 hours..

changed psu also.. same problemm

Im sure it is software related and not an actual component issue. You say it stops shutting off when you take the hdd out, that because its no longer reading whatever was on it. Which is why it is fine with a format..

Is it possible you did something wrong on the dex conversion or something?

It was having the issue on OFW, cant be dex conversion.. I bought it because it need a new hard drive apparently, But thats not the case as i bought a new 7200rpm HDD.

Shall I try a new 5400rpm one?

Ok. So just to recap what is happening

You install a hdd
reformat it
install firmware

its fine and boots up?

Then, if you shut it off immediately after that, then try to boot, is it ylod? Or, is ylod coming later at a random point in time after shutting it off?

and what happens if you get it booted and just leave it running or maybe play a game? Will it shut off with ylod?

Tried 3 or 4 HDD's now :/ 100% they work in another console..

The console will work fine when I format the HDD, reinstall FW.. but its as soon as i shut it off it doesnt want to turn back on :/

I had the console on for a hour or so last night

I stumbled across it too aswell dude

Dead/Disconnected HDD - tried 3 or 4 hdd's, impossible

Cold-Joint between the CPU/RSX/EE(If your console has one)- its only a 2003B , i doubt it needs a full reball yet

Physical Damage to the Motherboard- impossible

Dead power supply - impossible becuase of what i stated underneath

Not enough voltage from the power supply (Failing Power Supply) - impossible got a working psu in there from another console

Jammed/Disconnected Fan (Not Confirmed) - impossible

Overheating - impossible

Corrupted NAND/Nor Flash - Maybe if they had the console jailbroken before.. but next to impossible as good chance the original cid would be banned but its not and all the backups were perfect, reseated the clip each backup

Bad Update - Impossible

Short Circuit - Ive checked the board, gone over it all with 99.99% alcohol

Im absolutely baffled by this.. 4-5 days ive been trying to figure this out now
