(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Hii

I have a console.. was working fine, managed to downgrade sucessfully and convert to dex without any issues..

Put it on rebug 4.75.3 drex.. turned it off for 30 mins, turned it back on now it YLOD and shuts off...

CANNOT BE THERMAL PASTE AS I HAVE ALREADY REAPPLIED PASTE

Stops shutting off when I take the HDD out..

So i bought a new HDD.. install firmware on it.. now it boots up again fine..

turn it off for half an hour or so.. turn it back on and it YLOD's and turns off again..

Why is the HDD's causing this? its like something is writing to them before they shut down :/

shall i try different firmware? could the HDD port be dodgey?

Willing to pay if someone can solve this.. baffled me.. been trying to find a fix for the last 48 hours..

changed psu also.. same problemm

Ive already messaged someone on ebay, going to pay for a full reball i think, it'll also guarantee the console working for another 6-12 months minimum

Frustrating isnt even the word for it, the amount of times ive formatted these HDD's i got here, also reapplied paste and gone over the whole board with alcohol to make sure all the connections are right

Its Baffled me for the last 5+ days, reballing the cpu and gpu or the southbridge is the last ideas i have in mind

Just out of curiosity, how much are they charging?
Fingers crossed it'll be case closed after you've had it done lol.

Depending where I go to

between £30-£50 not including the postage fees

Yes same here dude, I would be gutted if I spent the money on a reball and still be in the same situation, i would probably cri

Shit man, I know that's cheaper than buying a new console but couldn't you look into doing it yourself?

I'm sure it can't be that hard. Mind you, I bet you just want it over with huh? Lol.

I dont have the tools buddy, im currently saving for a proper BGA rework station

Im not going to do it the cheap way, i would rather pay for it to be done the proper way than to be a cheap skate

I take time a pride in my console's Smile

Here's a ebay listing of a bga rework station, just so u can see the price

£400! Shit lol.

To be fair though, you could start doing paid repairs for people with that.

I'm picking up a few top cases for my slim, planning on doing some case/fan mod variations to help towards prevention of YLOD.

Thinking it might be a short lived hobby but yeah, that setup looks pretty sweet dude.

Exactly man, could earn a wage from it just owning that machine

Also yeah case mods looks dope as fuck, I would certainly be interested in bulk if it was the right price.

To be honest I need to learn to do it myself but im not very creative, also I dont have a decent drill

Deffo send me some pictures if it goes successful

Will do!

It's not that difficult and the tools aren't expensive. Just a few drill-bits depending on the type of case mod.

I'll be making a thread when I come to do it anyway, and possibly take orders lol.
