(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); I'm trying to downgrade to 3.55 to change my MAC address, but I keep getting errors like "the system update is not compatible for the system" or "800" errors.

I'm currently on Rebug 4.78 DEX.

I've tried a number of downgraders, even the ones on the Rebug website.

Can someone please help me?

Well that doesn't mean it's your MAC, could be wherever you're getting your CIDs from maybe selling the same ones to other people so you think you're getting a private one but they're really selling the same one to multiple people.

It's definitely not my CID. I just bought a new one plus I've never been banned. Both my CIDs are Private. It may be my MAC, I'm not sure. I just keep getting instantly banned when doing recoveries.

?hmm
Try this one
You must login or register to view this content.

Also, verify your folder structure:
fat32formattedusbflashdriveroot/PS3/UPDATE/PS3UPDAT.PUP

and use the rightmost usb port of the ps3

If that one works, you are probably (CEX), so you can install a (CEX) cfw of your choice afterwards.

If that is not working either, you could try another known working hdd or try to format yours..

To format your hdd:

1. Boot the ps3 into recovery
2. Select option "restore ps3 system"
this will wipe everything, games, saves, accounts, etc
afterwards you will be brought to a black screen asking for your last syscall(last cfw you had installed)

3. You can reinstall your cfw here, or try to use one of the downgraders I have provided.

If at any point the reformatting bugs out or throws an error/ recovery mode freezing etc, it probably means it is going out and needs to be replaced..

I've Tried Both, Though The System Update and Through Safe Mode & I'm On DEX. Still Not Working.

I would suggest you try another HDD.

Yes, some has worked, but when it finishes installing, it prompts me to rebuild the database and as soon as it starts it says "could not rebuild database" and prompts me to format the database. And if I press circle it says "the hard disk could not be found"
