Post: PS3 downgrade might soon be possible!
11-02-2010, 01:27 AM #1
(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Well I know how to dump the nand. AND all I have to do now is find the NAND in the ps3. I'll open up my ps3 and find it soon. If and when I find it, I can erase all contents on it by setting a large voltage of the opposite polarity. Bassically it pulls the electrons off the FG through quantum tunneling. Once we do this, we SHOULD be able to downgrade. And i'll have to have a new HDD, or reformat my current one, as %60 of the firmware is stored on the HDD. And if I have to, i'll install a new flash reader.. >.> ALSO: Don't ask me questions about what I just said if I confuse you.. It's REALLY hard to explain. If I manage to find something usefull, i'll post it.

Tonight you post this garbage.

Let's take a look and disassemble your "idea"

You know how to dump the nand, but don't know how to determine or find it? How are you dumping it? Even then so what good is it to you? You will have destroyed any and all data on the NAND, what then? Will it even start up? Because you do realize (at least from my personal experience in the xbox world) what is stored on there is everything. INCLUDING how it operates when you push the power button. So now with nothing on it my guess is that it won't do anything and you will have a dead console.

You are going to send large voltage into a small micro controller. Well now that is a GREAT idea. Just burn it up with one large voltage pop. You do realize that even a small amount of static electricity is enough to fry sensitive electrical components?

So you take a smart sounding term, throw it into a post and expect people to believe you? It has very little to do with what you want it's not even funny.

You can take certain things from the NAND and replace it. That is where the "DEAD" console wont happen. Also, when you want to add things, you must erase things. Erasing empty bytes and replacing is the key. The purpose of erasing the NAND is to dump it. BUT first you need to extract important information you need. I can do this. AND I said I MIGHT dump it with what I said. If you see my second post, you can see that I might just corrupt it. THEN I can reformat it, thus fixing the problem.

I also thank you for argueing with me. THIS is a community, and people get all psyched when someone argues. It just helps fix things. I know what your saying, but i'm not completely erasing it. Depending on the method.

You cannot "format" a hardware chip. You may erase it, but not format it.

And you can read/write parts of a NAND without erasing anything. It is sequential memory.

You also realize that the NAND is encrypted, so anything you read from it is not readable/changeable without being able to decrypt it, which you cannot due.

You CAN format the NAND. Using Windows OEM. Or fkid..I forget the propper name. And I know it is encrypted. But that's the point of coruptting it.

Once again you need to understand further what you are talking about.

You do not format it, and like I said and proved with my xbox example, a blank NAND gets you a dead console, not a place to start from.

Keep in mind as well, efuses ARE present in the PS3 CPU die. No one knows if they are used or not.

Windows has NOTHING to do with this, think ASM

You don't get what i'm saying.. Information will still be present on the NAND. You can corrupt it and reformat it. and, YES you can reformat it.

Since it appears I am talking to someone who refuses to listen to anyone with experience I will wish you luck and end it at this.
