Vast majority of the above threads were like "OMG I am scared":catfight:

I need to explain this, in NO way sony will dis-able your PS3.

Why?Eek

The HARDWARE IS CLEARLY YOURS. It's illegal to dis-able your PS3 because it's considered Vandalism.

If they dis-abled your console then you have every right to sue Sony and remember there will be "few" millions joining you. And even if they won , they will spend ridiculous amount of money on this because if they lost, they are bankrupt.

However, Sony can still ban your console from accessing PlayStation Network and prevent you from downloading any future updates.

I suggest switching back to OFW and clearing your Data-base files because once you log in , a clear log is sent to Sony.

Be careful , Sony will make "MAD" Bans but most likely this will be for 3.60 CFW or something.Outie

Well I don't know if they can see any difference between OFW/CFW..but if you disguise all your homebrew I think you should be good.

I'd expect in the next firmware update Sony will have added some sort of way to check the kernel for modifications to things such as the game tools. The PS3 hacking scene might turn similarly into the one like the xbox where consoles get banned after a few hours of being online.

But with OFW and some signed homebrew I think Sony could almost care less because the OFW will not allow the playing of pirated games.

P.S. I do hope Sony gets around to encrypting your PSN information on the PS3 HDD.

Agreed. I highly doubt that Sony will "Permaban" users for using applications to mod games like ModernWarfail 2.

The hardware is yours, however the software that runs on it is not. You are leasing the software and Sony is within its legal right to remove or alter that software if you break the EULA. They can't technically disable your PS3, however they can disable the software. What that entails is up to the mind's eye.
