I need to explain this, in NO way sony will dis-able your PS3.

Why?Eek

The HARDWARE IS CLEARLY YOURS. It's illegal to dis-able your PS3 because it's considered Vandalism.

If they dis-abled your console then you have every right to sue Sony and remember there will be "few" millions joining you. And even if they won , they will spend ridiculous amount of money on this because if they lost, they are bankrupt.

However, Sony can still ban your console from accessing PlayStation Network and prevent you from downloading any future updates.

I suggest switching back to OFW and clearing your Data-base files because once you log in , a clear log is sent to Sony.

Be careful , Sony will make "MAD" Bans but most likely this will be for 3.60 CFW or something.Outie

It's also not possible to brick a ps3 from a firmware file, as if it doesn't work you can use the recovery menu to go back to a previous firmware.

Definition of brick - Console crash/error and must restart the console to operate normally again. Not that the console is broken and does not work anymore.

Well at least that's how i look at it.

Brick we are talking about is when you turn the ps3 on there is just a black screen. It only does nothing.

Yes they can disable your ps3 because when you update your ps3 theres little thing call terms and agreements or a user agreement that clearly says "hacking" or "modifying" your ps3 in anyway is a violation of the user agreement that you agreed to so they have every right to ban your console because you violated the user agreement you agreed to ...

Would I have to clear my data base files if I just hosted MW2 lobbies or does that only pertain to people who used homebrew?

I do not know where you live, but according to USA Law:

"If a company dis-abled/bricked your device, then you have every right to sue them"

They can do whatever they want with their "Software" but nothing with your "Hardware"
