You don't understand how to change stuff in firmwares properly but want to imagine that you are a 1337 hacking bad ass that gets bitches left and right?
Modify license.txt and version.txt with notepad to say whatever you want and see that it comes up whilst updating.
License.txt is what comes up in the installation agreement about bullshit where you pay for the PS3 but don't get to use even 10% of it's abilities or they'll sue you.
Version.txt is what version it says you're updating to e.g. 3.56 or ub3r1337hax 9.99 since you've modified it.
If you want your firmware re packaged ask me and I might do it for you.

Its a .rar file and when you unzip it its all of the files contained within the firmware itself not the actual update.

just remember, the hassle of the last cfw barrage, once something got patched, everyone freaked out, everytime a cfw gets released..the patches will get worse, and the bans will be more violent, and sony is a tempermental beast right now, and i wouldnt wanna poke it. hope the cfw is coming along smoothly xD

Or they'll just give up and or realise people are going to crack it everytime regardless....
e.g. What happened to the PSP.

true adog, but they wont give up, adding cfw comprimises every game thatll come out, and sony has to protect its investments and hold game companies on the console so they dont switch to xbox, if the security of the system keeps getting breached, then game companies will leave. and we all suffer then, besides that, games will take longer to develop to add extra lines of code for glitching/hacking reasons. which may take months longer...i love ps3 alot, and to see my fave games go to xbox..i wont be happy. remember when mgo was in the beginning? everyone lag switched, then about 7 months later, they came down on everyone who cheated or hacked, and mac banned everyone in the process nearly. sony may do this as well. just sayin...no matter what i say will matter to people releasing them, but bare in mind, that the ps3 will just end up a big pile of hacked cfws..and sony will get sue happy on the cfw makers, like kakaroto and such.
