OK copy the data to the root of a memory stick. Then go to system settings and install other os. Go up one and change the default os and then change it to other os. It will restart and load into linux and thats you.

i left my ps3 on the screen where u said that it would take about an hour and a half and mine never went to the screen where u pick your resolution

You pick it on the usb stick. You press up and down to scroll through the settings.

EDIT: fixed, was using my messed up ps3 controller which doesnt work wirless

lol glad to hear it. SolidMob go into your memory stick and then check if the root image is in one of the files. If its not I'll upload it separately.

Yes, everything is on the memory Stick, but it won't work. That's kinda unlucky Sad Awesome
