The glitch only works with update 1.10 hence you have to downgrade if you want to use the glitch and before I receive another million questions on how to downgrade here is how it works:
Delete the GT5 game data in the game data utility folder on your ps3 and then start the game. Now download and install all updates up to the sixth one which is 1.10. As soon as update 7 starts (got 62 MB) press the circle button to cancel. That's it.
Keep in mind that you lose everything that is saved in the game data (pictures, replays and thumbnails). You will also lose the cars from 2011 if you played on version 2.0 already. No need to say that you can't go online with GT5 if you play on an older version.
Always keep a backup copy of your savefile on a USB-stick just to be on the safe side.

i keep getting reset (patch 1.10)

reset on what i did trophy today make sure u do checkpoints on the map delete ur game data than install only to patch 1:10

make sure ur offline after trophy pop download patch and sync trophies First drive to the glitch location I am showing in the video (check the map) and get through. Now drive to the finish line without being reset onto the track again (never leave the track longer than 5 sec.) and start the next lap. You should be under the track all the time and there are plenty of shortcuts you can take. You only have to be careful at the glitch entry point during your 2nd lap, but you can take a shortcut there anyway. If you have any poblems in the second lap then watch part 2 of this video:

I gave up for the night. Like i see the ending of the video and follow it, but I can't even progress any further without it reseting me.I am pass the gate and can drive around, I make sure I stick right next to the track or at least close enough, but no matter it seems to always reset me. I am under the map btw.

I got it working and I am on 1.10 now after downgrading, but everytime I drive (staying on the same course as you at the end of that video) it always reset me. Any chance we can get a better clearer or an extended bit of you leaving just the beginning??

Yes it works, i've just done it....
youjust have to delete your game data to delete all the update, launch the game, accept the updates, and stop the download of the 7th one, then launch the game and refuse the updates and follow the videos.
took me 1h though

EDIT : for all those that get reset on the track, it's because, you are going too far away from the track, or you're away too long, if you keep following the track and cut where the track is not too far, you'll have no issues.
another point, you HAVE to cut the track not to go near where the glitch happened or else, you'll get reset. just cut through the house, just like it's shown on the video.

Yeah this glitch works great. It is not a super simple glitch like Buzz or anything but it will get you the trophy and without to much difficulty. I recommend not trying to go around too fast. I went pretty slow and still managed to get a time of about 7:30. The key is just have patience and dont try to cut the track to much. I was not able to make all the cuts that they did in the video. So it is still possible even without all the crazy cuts. You make up your time on the slightly curvy crap.

The key is patience. And learning how to stay in the glitch is also important.
