Post: Easy YLOD Fix

(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); You will need:

4 big washers (diameter 40mm, hole 8mm and 1mm thick)

- Can be found in hardware stores for around £1 each.

1.) Remove the upper cover, blu-ray drive and the PSU.
2.) Place the washers on the screws of the cooling blocks.

You must login or register to view this content.

3.) Screw the screws as tight as you can (apply same pressure to screws)
4.) Cut a small piece out of the washer in the bottom right.

You must login or register to view this content.

These washers add more pressure to the screws.

Note: This is not my tutorial, I found it then summarised it.

Well you are better off doing the complete tutorial. You just need to purchase a heat gun and a thermal injection. And you will just have to strip the PS3 a little more than the image shows. There should be a fan under the place where you put the washers, so you should just open your whole PS3 and do the hard way to completey fix your YLOD.

I don't really think this will work, but I'm curious to what people who've tried it say.
