(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); You will need:

4 big washers (diameter 40mm, hole 8mm and 1mm thick)

- Can be found in hardware stores for around £1 each.

1.) Remove the upper cover, blu-ray drive and the PSU.
2.) Place the washers on the screws of the cooling blocks.

3.) Screw the screws as tight as you can (apply same pressure to screws)
4.) Cut a small piece out of the washer in the bottom right.

These washers add more pressure to the screws.


Note: This is not my tutorial, I found it then summarised it.

Maybe someone should try fixing their YLOD using this guide:

Then add the 4 washers when assembling it back together. I might buy some more thermal paste and 4 washers and try it and see what happens.
