Post: Easy YLOD Fix

(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); You will need:

4 big washers (diameter 40mm, hole 8mm and 1mm thick)

- Can be found in hardware stores for around £1 each.

1.) Remove the upper cover, blu-ray drive and the PSU.
2.) Place the washers on the screws of the cooling blocks.

3.) Screw the screws as tight as you can (apply same pressure to screws)
4.) Cut a small piece out of the washer in the bottom right.

These washers add more pressure to the screws.


Note: This is not my tutorial, I found it then summarised it.

yeah, but not for the long time, max on the 1, 2 month.

I tired it did not work for me on my 40 gig.just done termal paste and heat gun thing worked great,how long for time will tell.up to 6 months i've been told then must do it again.

I got YLoD a while ago and it costed to much to fix so i just bought a slim...i gave the broken one to my cousin and he somehow made it work again >.>............
