(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Please post any "theories" on MW2 hacks in this thread. If you are confident enough that your theory is new then you must be willing to check every theory in this thread to make sure you are not just rehashing old info. Please post your theory in the title if at all possible. This will make it easier for people to sort through. Meaning use "Hack with RFOM" as the title instead of "new way to hack" as the title. Hopefully this helps everyone and makes life a lot easier for all involved. Thanks to DesmondS95 for getting my attention on this.

Yea I have my doubts man. One hunter can enable his hacks in about 3-5 minutes, installing a patch every time you wanna play is ridiculous. But when you have the ISO (Hunter had thread asking about them which is now gone for good) but you can inject all the mods in there. Backup your 3.40 FW on your external HDD and upload the ISO to that and install via restore. And thats another reason why hunter signs out then in every time he starts playing mw2 because he is restoring his backup. Which thats also what he said in a Cod5 thread.

It takes hours to restore backups.

Then he has a homebrew boot loader. Since he also said (yey for homebrew) But yea so I'm gonna scrap the external HDD unless you wanna make a back up with your hacks on it. Then that would be a good thing to do.

The boot loader won't load any files into the HDD either. PS3 HDD access is completely blocked.

I got my ISO through linux. So there is a way to upload with linux. But thats only one 3.15 or lower. But when you restore to get the ISO on you only have to restore once unless your internal HDD gets zapped or something. Just think about it

Yeah, you can dump the ISO of a Blu-Ray on Linux, because you are accessing the drive and dumping it to the Linux partition, not the actual GameOS HDD. PS3 emulation is impossible at the moment. This route won't work. :frown:

Apparently it worked for Hunter. He had a thread with the question about PS3 game ISOs.

Hunter: "If there was a way to get any PS3 game ISO there would be Mods then for a lot of games."

He recently deleted that thread most likely yesterday. But your right about linux not install it back. So I guess when you get the ISO out. Inject the codes in it. And upload to the external HDD that has the 3.40 FW on it you can restore it with the modded ISO. But he has to only do it one time. And since all of his HDDs are fried he can't host any lobbies and plus he lent out MW2... that we are aware of.

If it was an ISO method, this is what would have to be done.

You would download the ISO and obtain:
    patch_mp.ff
code_post

Do a backup, and rename the patch_mp.ff to "archivexxxx.dat," the code_post to "archivexxxxx.dat," then restore the backup.

This would have worked if the PS3 was an older version, but this was said to be patched in version 2.50.

I'm not saying it's impossible, because I don't know. But we do I know the headers are different for ps3 compared to xbox 360. I doubt this is the method, simply due to people wanting to play ps3 vs xbox for awhile now.
But it wouldn't shock me if this was the true method, even if just to infect the ps3's cache data for mw2. But if that's the case you should be able to do it with a pc as well.
