(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Please post any "theories" on MW2 hacks in this thread. If you are confident enough that your theory is new then you must be willing to check every theory in this thread to make sure you are not just rehashing old info. Please post your theory in the title if at all possible. This will make it easier for people to sort through. Meaning use "Hack with RFOM" as the title instead of "new way to hack" as the title. Hopefully this helps everyone and makes life a lot easier for all involved. Thanks to DesmondS95 for getting my attention on this.

Maybe the PS3 with linux is used for the patch blocker and is used to move a modified patch file onto the regular PS3.

Does anyone know whats happens when you join a match, you don't get your data from the PSN system you get your match data from PS3 host of that match. Cause it has to give you all the settings he/she has configured, which map to play how long of a match, headshots, friendly fire or not ETC ETC. so what if you are actually just infecting the good machine with a hacked game, which is possible from 3.15 or lower? and 3.15 and lower is not as encrypted.

1.) Dump HDD on 3.15 inline edit the modded .ff into the .bin and repack

2.) Backup 3.15 onto an external

3.) Restore onto 3.30 (Im not so sure on 3.40 as the checksums here could prevent you from restoring from an older FW) but 3.30 works, and 3.30 can go live currently..

Hit me up on msn if you want to know anything more, I'm not going to spoonfeed the community however.

If it restores to the 3.30 ok it will be fine on 3.40
I updated my ps3 to 3.40 and then formatted and put 3.30 image on the hdd and there wasn't a problem. I think errors arise if the data on the image is messed with. But a full restore should be fine as the 3.40 will asign a checksum to the already modded data

I still think you have to the mod the installed portion (games get install'd to the hard drive for faster loading because of bluray is slow right?) of the game which you can see with linux.

You got msn? seems like your one of the people here who are able to 'test' whilst having a brain at the same time, that's rare lol.

but the .ff in compressed in a zlib format, so inline editing would be nearly impossible

i.e. the patch (including .ff files). but as far as i know the ps3 uses its own file system that cant be viewed from linux or any OS or program
