(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Please post any "theories" on MW2 hacks in this thread. If you are confident enough that your theory is new then you must be willing to check every theory in this thread to make sure you are not just rehashing old info. Please post your theory in the title if at all possible. This will make it easier for people to sort through. Meaning use "Hack with RFOM" as the title instead of "new way to hack" as the title. Hopefully this helps everyone and makes life a lot easier for all involved. Thanks to DesmondS95 for getting my attention on this.

Wutz n MW2?
Here's what I've gathered after my own trail and error with the limited time of an OtherOS PS3 (one of my friends has a PS3 he rarely touches and never updated, working on buying it from him).

Get a PS3 with OtherOS support (we'll call it Hack PS3)
Using the proxy GUI, place MW2's 1.11 patch.pkg into the Hack PS3.
Boot OtherOS and locate patch file (using the PS3 HDD tree found on PS3News as a guide).

Mod file to hearts content.
Run PS3 backup utility on OtherOS PS3 and save to external drive.

Connect external drive to Current FW PS3.
Restore backup files to Updated PS3 (or in this case, Live PS3).
Run MW2, start private match to verify mods working properly.

Again, the above isn't real in depth, but it's what I could gather from my limited time with a Linux PS3. I'll have more if I can borrow/buy my friend's PS3.

This is supposedly the only way to do the mods using the patch file itself as the source of the mods.

Only other way I can think of is the iSO method but that seems very doubtful IMO.

I'm not new to this
If we can force the game to load online off of the splitscreen files, we can do about anything.

step 1: go to gamestop and buy an old 20gb ps3
step 2: load up lynux to the old ps3
step 3: back up your PS3/access HDD with a SATA cable\

to b continued

I already checked with my local GS. Some might not do this regularly but the one near me updates all their refurbished PS3s with an update disc when checking the returned system to verify it works.

Only other way I can think of is to find an Uncharted Bundle PS3 from Wal-Mart. If it isn't below firmware 3.15 (which it should be, mine was 3.00), then simply return the system and get your money back and look for a fat PS3.
