)UPDATE: We have decided to call the project PSKinect. PSConnect was taken
Also Other name's were taken but this one stuck with us. 
UPDATE 2:The PSKinect staff has been assembled and the project will begin this Saturday. Finally we will start the process of putting the necessary measures into place and start construction of what soon could be one of the biggest breakthrough's in PS3 hacking history if all goes well. Right next to CFW and all the other great breakthrough's in the underground community.

If we feel the need to add more help we will schedule another conference at a later date. As of now we feel comfortable with the current team and are looking forward to making this a reality.
PSKinect will bring all the CFW user's together on a network that is not run by Sony or any of their affiliates. It will be a network that allows gameplay to those who wish not to continue with Sony's original firmware updates. Those with banned console's will get their chance to return to a gaming server and continue to use their PS3's online for the first time since the bans were put into place. We will not allow cheats to be used on our server's. We are hoping to implement a measure which will weed out the cheater's to avoid abuse of our network not to mention keeping the games fair and square for everyone to enjoy. PSKinect will in no way remove PSN from any PS3 nor will it replace it. This will be an option for those who want to play on a network other than Sony's. Hopefully after it's launch we will add some cool features which I cannot discuss here at the current time. Stay tuned guys and thanks for the support!

This is one of the best ideas i have seen here and it could easily be done now. All it would take is for someone to write a homebrew app that mocks the psn with a xlink type server.

Break free from the bonds Sony is putting on us. Build in patch blockers and such.

Anyone want in on this or have any special expertise they can throw our way? All help is appreciated.

Sony is going to lose the console war, they always do it will only take time, then they will get bored of fighting with everyone and put out a ps4. Back on topic though the first step here is to write the app, so unless you guys are devs you should start by pitching the idea to them.

The reason the list is so small is because you can only do this with games that have LAN. Not all games do

I understand exactly why the list is so small. What we need is someone with some insight as to what we would have to change in order to get us the position to get this up and going. PS3 dev's where are ya? Regardless I will be starting to move this around by tomorrow with the help of some other user's. Like I said before if you know the working of the PS3 very well and know what it would take on the PS3 software side of thing's please by all means give us a helping hand.

Fortunately I have an engineering degree, as do a few of my friends. Fortunately theirs are computer related :p I've made apps and themes for Cydia, so I will be a little more helpful other than monetary donations
We have a good projected team right now. We are just gauging interests and getting ideas from the crowd. Help is always welcomed though!

Like i said earlier, you would need a server large enough to support your demographic(probably about 50000 people MAX) and the software to direct you there, essentially connecting to your own psn. If you can do that you could theoretically play online with anyone playing on that server.
