(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Well, I had the chance to try out the Xbox's Dashboard recently and I thought it was really good. The avatars are pretty awesome and the cross-game chat was even better. I know everyone has already asked Sony to add cross-game chat but all they have been doing recently is taking away features and adding security patches. What is taking them so long to add these features? I would pay a yearly subscription to their Playstation Plus just for this. Come on Sony, give us some cool avatars and new menus.

Just thought I'd give my two cents.

Xbox 360's dashboard works way better than the XMB, and much more intuitive. I just wish Sony would add the features of Live that make it so good over PSN, I think most people wouldn't have a problem paying a yearly subscription if it means players can form parties outside of games and chat with them etc..

The PS3 is just an all-round better console, the problem is it's made by a load of idiots.

And yes, I own both consoles so I know the pros and cons of each.

I agree with you OP. My XMB at times is hella slow, it freezes when i'm deleting friends, the ingame XMB takes ages to load ,etc... :FU:

But unfortunately Sony isn't gonna do anything about the XMB.
Don't you get they're too busy playing the cat and mouse game with the hackers instead of gradually improving their system? :banhamma:

I like the XMB over the XBOX dashboard. The XMB is really simple to use.

why dont' you just switch to xbox instead? i disagree with alot of what your saying like cross game chat, having a mic chat then boom invaded by all your friends, your friends friends, and your friends friends friends sounds like me mashing mute and leaving the chat.

not to start the age old fanboy debate, but i firmly stand by, xbox was created for children, and ps3 is for adults=more simplistic while still being versatile.

i'm completely fine with waiting to get a "new" xmb when the ps4 comes out. if anything i'd like a update for things such as the clock, more dynamic themes, and better old school games to download.

It's a proven fact that Microsoft has provided a better gameplay experience (system wise).

PS3 is behind in so many ways compared to XBOX.

It's a shame.

Allow me to elaborate on some things:
1. The main reason that I would want cross-game chat is because most of my friends play Call of Duty. While I like it, I sometimes get annoyed with it and play other games like Uncharted and Assassins Creed Brotherhood. So, it would be nice to be able to chat with my friends even though I'm playing a different game. For me, my friends normally don't invite their friends to chat or play so the muting thing would not apply to me but I understand what you are saying.
2. I don't want to completely switch to the Xbox because most of my friends are on PS3. Also, I absolutely love the graphics the PS3 has for it exclusives. I play both consoles and like them equally.
3. I just want to say that I am in no way implying that the XMB is completely unusable. My thoughts on it are that it is usable and simple but it is laggy at times. I'm saying that Sony could give it a facelift and make it optional for users whether they want the newer XMB or the classic one. It would be nice to see Sony add some new feature with a firmware update rather than taking things away or applying a security patch with no details.

Those are my thoughts and I completely respect and understand yours :y:
