AMBASSADOR OF VIRTUAL VIOLENCE

Activision Blizzard is concerned that the continuing outage of Sony's online services is preventing its users from having fun.

The Sony Playstation Network hack, which exposed the details of more people than currently live in the United Kingdom, has seen the firm take its online gaming systems offline and that has left gamers playing by themselves as opposed to against their friends and peers online.

"While PlayStation 3 gamers can still play Call of Duty by themselves, the outage has prevented them, since April 20, from playing against others over the Internet.

"We're really concerned about it," said Bobby Kotick, Activision's CEO, in an interview with the Wall Street Journal. "People are really disappointed."

Obvious as this may be, it's the first time that a games software house has come out with public criticism of Sony, and with some weeks yet to come before the problem is expected to be settled, more are likely to follow.
Sony was expected to start services up again this week but failed to meet its own target as it scrambles to shore up its security. Some reports suggest that the online service will be restored by the end of this month, putting the outage at about six weeks.

i would say roughly anything between £100,000-£500,000 day if not a week

if 77 million people bought an avatar for 20p in a day thats £15400000 i think i wrote that right

and thats just something for less than £1

---------- Post added at 01:45 PM ---------- Previous post was at 01:42 PM ----------

no exact date but a few days more sounds promising

I know, i said this in another thread that i wish they would give us daily updates on what they are actually doing and the progress they have made, this way people feel less frustrated and aren't just left hanging for days without any information at all.

I know you all want to know exactly when the services will be restored. At this time, I can’t give you an exact date, as it will likely be at least a few more days. We’re terribly sorry for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience as we work through this process.

Ok? What does this info have to do with anything? All im saying is that people need to know that there are other games out there! Some people own a PS3 JUST for CoD which is soooo sad because the game isnt even that fun no more, too repetative.

I'm just gonna throw this out there... Good news, but your numbers are WAYYYYY off. 77 mil accounts were affected... That's accounts, not people. I have 5 accounts myself... There are people I know with 20 accounts. Very few people only have 1 account, therefore its not affecting that many people. And responding to a later post you made, Sony isn't "losing" money. They just arent gaining any. Running servers costs a fortune so with psn down they aren't having to spend near as much. The only extra they're spending is to the security team they brought in.
