AMBASSADOR OF VIRTUAL VIOLENCE

Activision Blizzard is concerned that the continuing outage of Sony's online services is preventing its users from having fun.

The Sony Playstation Network hack, which exposed the details of more people than currently live in the United Kingdom, has seen the firm take its online gaming systems offline and that has left gamers playing by themselves as opposed to against their friends and peers online.

"While PlayStation 3 gamers can still play Call of Duty by themselves, the outage has prevented them, since April 20, from playing against others over the Internet.

"We're really concerned about it," said Bobby Kotick, Activision's CEO, in an interview with the Wall Street Journal. "People are really disappointed."

Obvious as this may be, it's the first time that a games software house has come out with public criticism of Sony, and with some weeks yet to come before the problem is expected to be settled, more are likely to follow.
Sony was expected to start services up again this week but failed to meet its own target as it scrambles to shore up its security. Some reports suggest that the online service will be restored by the end of this month, putting the outage at about six weeks.

This guy is just sore that 14 year olds on PS3 have to find something else to do than play CoD. I'm sure he's hurting over the fact PS3 users can't buy Escalation and Activision can't plan a release date. I'd bet huge money that when the PSN store is back online, the Black Ops DLC will be the first thing released.

Escalation hasn't come out for PSN yet anyway. It always comes out one month after the release of the Xbox map pack.

When it comes to money you guys are reallllllyyy looking at the small picture. There not really losing a lot of money. They are only losing money to one product and online service.. When you have to think how big Sony really is.. There products are vast stores around the world.. I don't think for one second this outage is losing them money. I think they will earn tripple when it comes online. When it goes back up people will buy shit tons of people will be playing the system again and millions will pay for service, I actually see lots of money to be earned here.

Agreed. Activision could give two shits about the network being down. PSN map pack is due out soon but we won't be able to buy it. We don't/can't buy, they lose income and revenue.

PSN: awong_
I think EVERYONE's disappointed. Is there really a need that every time a game company says they're unhappy about offline PSN a new thread is posted? It's more or less stating the obvious....
