Only for phones in the USA.......
Not sure if phones is legal in the EU.
With the court case in the USA being won by sony. I doubt it going to be easy....you then have issues with other products.

Software thing depends on the software terms if it meant to be free or not

Jailbreaking is legal unless you use it for piracy! Apple actually used to encourage it to see what could be developed. Some ideas were even used by Apple in the newer products, and it game them another source of market research. They also found it interesting to see how far the product could be taken and what sort of fan made apps could be made before limitations were reached Smile

(Can't remember the source i read this from because it was quite a while ago but if anybody wanted to see i am sure i could find it Smile

)

Yup ipods/ iphones jail breaking is legal in the USA. Downloading free apps from hackul.us.. is a different story however.

The jailbreaking of mobile phones in the United States is legal. (By mobile phones, ITouch and Ipads and devices alike are counted). Consoles and such are not protected so you can't jailbreak the PS3 legally yet.

It's all in time before we get it legal, you can't fight something like this when just about everyone jailbreaks.
