If it was legal it would pretty much ruin all games, I know it sounds cool now, but when your playing MW3 or MW2 or any game and you get killed by some little 12 year old with his mod menu rocking, your not going to think jailbreaking is such a cool thing. The only reason its legal with ipods is because it doesn't effect anybody but you. And if it was legal, sony would still update trying to stop the jailbreaking, so its really a lose lose situation. If you don't agree, wonderful. :y:

There's a total difference between jailbreaking an ipod/phone and a gaming console. 1st of all, Ipod/phone users can jailbreak their device because it won't harm anyone. Only Problem with that is that theirs pirating but thats up too you if you wanna pirate apps and then get sued. As For ps3, it really affected everyone. There was pirating on ps3 so of coarse sony is going too sue geohot for releasing it and also geohot got sued for releasing the code as well. There was another problem with hack lobbys on games, too many people been using it as well and people were getting upset about it because people been using these types of mods on public matches. This Also Apply too xbox and wii as well. Xbox can have jtags now because Microsoft did something too not let people play online unless you buy one of those things too get yourself online. If PS3 jailbreaks were too be offline, then jailbreaks would be legal and sony wont have issues on it or take out pirating or other things so people wont complaint about it.

Jailbreaking is legal.. Piracy however.. Is not.
