Post: DMZing My Playstation

(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Right i can do it easily with friends routers. its really easy. Im not dumb when it comes to stuff like this.

However i own one of the shittist routers in the world.

BT home hub 1.5

I want To DMZ my playstation. The DMZ option however only allows me to DMZ a Device that wasnt assigned manually. So i must go on my PS3 and select Easy for the setup. Then it appears in the list to DMZ. When i DMZ it comes up with a message " do you want to assign a public Ip address to ....."

So i click yes. Go to my ps3 and try to connect to the internet and sign in psn. It comes up with a Error message about DNS . When i try to change the internet settings, it wont obtain a IP address.

I then also cant access my BT home hub from my laptop once ive DMZd. But im still connected to the internet on it.

i cant assign a DMZ to a Ip it has to be to a device that doesnt have a Static IP.

Whats the Public Ip address ?!?! is that the one thats like 89.68......
My mates router you can assign it to a local IP like 192.168.1.100
help meee

okay I am not too sure about your router. You obviously know what you're talking about so...

Here is the link on portforward's site to open the ports for PS3. this includes detailed instructions for your specific router.

Right i thought Maybe if i can DMZ my laptop i could just copy the IP it assigns from IP config. then Un DMZ my laptop DMZ my ps3 and enter in the ip manually. but i still get this

80710102 - PS3 Cannot connect to the router with current IP information - DNS error occured.

And i know how to port foward. But everytime i reset my router it deletes all the "game applications" you make. So when you play 4 games online. And you have to make a load of lists of the ports to foward.
Repeating this every 2weeks when i have to restart my router because somethings wrong with it. its just a waste if i can find out how to DMZ once ive done it 1 time. it shouldnt take me long to do it again.

Yeah ill post it up 1 sec

to upload an image, you have to find a hosting source. Try photobucket.

your DMZ should allow you to set an IP address in the DMZ. You'll then have to disable the uPNP and forward all the ports for that IP address. once that's complete you'll move to your PS3 and enter the information in manually to connect. Once you do all that, you should be good to go. Let's first start with the router and see where that takes us

ok cool. Now can you post up one for the entire page of the DMZ link. That's the application sharing page, but we need to look at the DMZ page. You see the link off to the right that says DMZ? can you post that up?

there is no sublink to the DMZ. I see configuration, uPNP and DMZ. Can't you click on DMZ?

Did you try calling the support number to have them walk you through it?
