i really fail to see why a book written by humans proves there is anything but great imagination. i mean, i know that religious people believe that the Bible was written by "divine inspiration," (the theory god told the authors what to write) but once again, how can that be taken as proof when there is no proof to support it in the first place?
also, like agentjon said, there are so many different religions out there; why are Christianity, Judaism, Islam, Hinduism, Buddhism, etc. any more correct than any other? you just believe in different things, which doesn't make either of you right to begin with.
take Greek Mythology for example: people thousands of years ago believed in Greek Mythology devoutly, just like a Christian would today. If you were to ask any random group of people on the street whether or not they thought Greek Mythology was even the slightest bit plausible, i guarantee you 100% of them say no. But why? Why is what they believe in any more real than what the Greeks believed in thousands of years ago? In a few thousand years, what are people going to think about religions today? In the future, they may sound as ridiculous to them as Greek Mythology does to you now.
I think everyone should watch this:

The reason so many people believe in God is because they are desperate. People will do anything out of desperation. People will even eat other people if they are hungry enough. Why is believing in something that gives them a false sense of immortality such a far-fetched idea?
