Agreeing with dirty, not a good debate subject. With all thats currently going on in the world you chose "is there a god"? A subject which everyone has such strong opinions which will mostly likely not be changed by some mediocre life ideals.
My 2 cents. Itd be nice for there to be a higher power beyond our control and itd be even nicer if everyone could come together and believe in that higher power. But that's not how it works. As much as I'd love to believe in a god my current intellect won't let me. Believing in some old guy that reads a book full of impossible, sugar coated, and disproved facts just isn't possible for me. If you can 100% believe in a book, whether it be the bible, quran, or torah, then my respect and honor is great with you.
No matter what religion you do or don't believe in we all end up as the same thing, worm food.
Do people blow up other people because of there different beliefs in what a million dollars looks like? Do countrys split in two with never ending battles because of what a million dollars look like? Do people burn down houses because the person believes a million dollars exist. Do people waste there life and others to see what a million dollars will do for them (okay maybe that ones true.)
You cant compare anything to religion. Religion is its own little island of craziness.

Whos to know for sure. And im not saying I do or I dont believe. I am just keeping an open mind. People have said they have seen him, there are paintings of portraits Which one can you physically bring me god or a million dollars. (neither). And im not trying to argue with you Elfmo its just a debate.One that I think I will end right here............

honestly you guys don't know a debate... this is the #1 debated thing in the word... if there is a god or isn't... People must not see it in their every day lives... Judeism Catholicism, Atheism, Islam etc. Theres documentaries, cults etc. Everything that goes on in the world is based around some sort of religion if it be primary or secondary... But no matter what something is going around religion, In the Inauguration of Obama, they had a catholic prayer... there is something to debate, and you guys just have to take it lightly...

i could make a portrait of a three headed flying zebra, but that doesn't make it real
. but ya, im just trying to gather evidence to reassure my side on the issue (basically the point of a debate, lol). I have yet to see anyone provide any real evidence to the contrary.

exactly. A good debate would be, should the inauguration of the president have a prayer from a certain religion. That debate would have two clear sides, yes and no. Not a maybe side or a 'if i see it then i believe' side. Or a debate of if this inauguration is any more significant then the others (cuz hes black). A bunch of crap going on now that would be much better/easier to discuss
once Again, bad debate topic.
