Post: Americans and War

(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); I'm Canadian, just saying.

I'm sure anyone with half a brain realizes that America is currently engaging in a war, they've been engaged in previous wars and will be engaged in wars to come. My question is, do you guys think the USA is the innocent one is these wars?

My opinion, hell no. The war against Afghanistan and the Taliban was caused by Americans, you can choose not to believe me but it is true. Take a class on world issues or do some research and you'll see why.
I hate to touch on such a sensitive subject, but I think 9/11 could have been avoided if Americans kept their nose out of business that isn't theirs.

I actually feel sorry for those who think that your soldiers are fighting for such a good cause (they are defending your country, yes, but think about why it needs to be defended in the first place), I respect any soldier greatly for what they are doing but some people are under the illusion that the USA is innocent when the war you are facing right now is your fault.

No American bashing intended, btw.

9/11 occurred because the USA cannot keep out of other countries affairs. They pissed off Afghanistan and with that they pissed off Bin Laden. Bin Laden is obviously quite the charismatic person if he can tell people to hijack a plane and kill themselves in the process.
The best part is, is that you think terrorism is an act of violence, which while it is, is more retaliation.
Terrorism is merely a way that a weak force (Afghanistan) pushed back against a strong force that is bullying it (real or perceived bullying). You can love America as much as you like, but don't ignore the darker facts.

Here is a paragraph for you to read on the matter.
"The US version of western civilization has been exported to the rest of the world. Not everyone else in the world appreciates it or wants it. Also there is no corner of the world that does not feel the influence of the US.
A group that doesn't like US influence governing their activities decided to make a statement and what a statement it was.
The US is not the benevolent influence we americans like mythologize. Outside the US our influence can be quite uncaring and brutal, all in the name of national interest. The US has never been that entity other than brief events that were typically the result of individual actions. The arabs have no more reason to love the US than the native americans."

America did not piss off Afghanistan because we were bullying them.
They had a right to be pissed because we made many promises that were not kept after helping them kick out the Russians.
Like always, once the strategic objective was accomplished, they wanted to spend their money somewhere else. If they had continued to build infrastructure and stayed involved in helping the country, the Taliban would not have come to power and Bin Laden would not have been able to apply as much influence. His issues and many Muslims was the US presence in the holy lands of Saudi Arabia after the 1st Gulf War( guess we should have stayed out of that too and let Iraq destabilize the area).
It is always easy to stir up hatred of the gorilla in the room, but make no mistake; Bin Laden and many Muslim radicals hate the west ( ALL of it ) and have targeted all of its leading countries. Not just because of American Policy, but because of the west's strategic and financial influence in the region and the radical’s inability to destabilize the major Arab countries that allow western influence for financial gain.

9/11 was going to occur whether we were isolationist or not. It had started many years before in several countries and Bin Laden devised an attack that was caught on TV for the world to see over and over. Frankly it was a brilliant plan, from his perspective, and I'm just happy it was not a nuke.
But that day will be coming for someone, whether your country sticks its head in the sand or not. I would rather be looking out for it and trying to do something about it before it happens.

Climbing up the ladder
Im gonna give you some HIstory that the news wont tell you. Back in the early 1900's there was a group called the muslim crusades that were basically defeated. The americans did not completely take them out so these crusaders said they would come back even more powerful so they decided to kill Christians in an attempt to avenge Allah. That is why when they attack a land they want to build a mosque on the land to say they have conquered. So regardless if we have been in there affairs the past few years this has been going on for over 100 years

I don't understand how that is relevant to the issues now. Why would a country commit terrorist acts to kill Christians, when not all of the USA is Christian? Bin Laden was the brain behind 9/11, he did it because of an earlier conflict of the USA helping Israel fight against them. How would you like if someone came into your house, uninvited, and started to only help one side of an argument? You probably would not like it all; Bin Laden's views exactly.

I am error
Before I make my point can I just say that I swear Everywhere I see either my name, or Iphyton's name, Dapreacher has been swiftly behind trying to disprove anything said.

Even if it was due to some maniac crusades 100 years ago, do you think invading a country is going to make the problem better? All you did was make the war a foreign invasion, meaning there was a sense of defending their homeland involved, which will only increase the resistance against N.A.T.O forces due to mindless propaganda. The U.S. will not win hearts and minds, face it, it's another Vietnam which will end the same way.

You were spamming just for post count.
And what does premium have to do with anything? It doesn't make you better than him, by the looks of yours and his posts, he is significantly more intelligent.

Immature.
