(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Do you think human cloning should be allowed?
I don't, due to your remake a copy of a human that is already living or have lived at one point, they would be in constant pain wouldn't they. "Mentally"
That's my reasoning.

If it can be done it will be done, whether it is illegal, unethical or anything else.
I would guess that several governments or wealthy organizations have performed it for medical experimation. Not to experiment on the clones themselves but to see the full posiblities of it.
Look what was done in Germany, during the war, on human experimentation. All of those records were kept and analized by the US and Russian goverments.
It is so fundamentally wrong to do, but have no doubt that it has and is being done, if only for organ transplant purposes.
It is the brain that holds the most interest. It can not be transplanted now and even if it could, the brain removed would not be able to transfer its memories to the new one.
But that is where the expermentation would be done.
Memory transfer into a genetically compatible brain would offer immortality.
That is what mankind has been looking for since it stood upright.

Is it really happening?
If it is possible, it most likely is. No matter what they tell you or how wrong it is to do.

Imagine being a thinking human being and trapped in that situation??
Pretty disturbing thought, but look at history to determine if it is possible........

This is very true, and I'm not gonna lie, I know the information we got from the Germans' experimentation in WWII was useful and enlightening. And I know once we can clone humans without defects, the scientific community is going to use it a lot. But I still would like to say that it should not be allowed, as that is what the thread is about.

Do not mistake my stance on the issue.
I do not support or condone human cloning.
I am merely pointing out that no
one should be naive enough to believe that it is not occuring.
Real power does not concern itself with moral or ethical questions.

Do a barrel roll!
FYI, we already have the technology available to clone a human, we just don't do it, at least publicly. Nuclear transplantation is already being done to clone organs, that's what you do with embryonic stem cells. After the transplantation of the nucleus theoreotically the embryo can be placed inside a woman where it would grow to become a cloned human being. But currently people just take the stem cells from it and regrow organs for research/medical procedecures.

@AceVirus, I've been seriously looking at your Sig for about 5 minutes... goddamn even tried reaching into the screen, O_O'

Um, it takes the same amount of time to grow a clone as it is to grow yourself, so if you were to "buy" a clone, you'd be twice as old as you are now to actually have a copy of yourself as you are now. And that'd just be creepy.

Back on topic:
I'd dissagree with cloning, not because of religious reason (being a nearly-atheist person), but because the thought of having a human being who isn't actually a human, with someone else's mindset, and thoughts, it'd be horrible. Human individuality would be destroyed. Plus, how could a clone possible live with the thought that it wasn't actually origianol, thet he/she is a shadow of someone else, someone who actually came from a lot of love, not from money. Plus, having a large amount of clones could hurt the country. If there was a hundred "John McStabbyStabStab"'s signing up for medicare or something, that'd be REALLY difficult to keep track of.
Also, how about all them jesus-freaks who would riot and whatnot? They would cause severe problems.

I think it should be illegal. Like some have said, cloning certain organs would be a good idea though.
