Yesterday when I was coming home from NYC, I stopped at a rest stop and there was a man there dressed in raggy clothes and he was pretty old. He was standing in front of the rest stop opening the door for people and holding out a cup for money. As I was sitting in the car I watched COUNTLESS people walk by with showing no emotion or even saying thank you for opening the fuсking door door. I mean does it really take that much effort to look at him and say thank you?!
I walked up to the guy twice in the time that we were there and gave him money and smiled at him, the first time he glanced at me and said thank you but the second time I did it he looked right up at me and said "God bless you son, people like you keep me alive." That really hit me
Sorry if this is a little bit tl;dr, but I just don't get why people would pass him by, at least smile at the guy or give a dollar, SOMETHING. Would you guys pass him by or would you give him money? Why or why not? I just don't get why you wouldn't.
I wouldn't give him money, I'd get him some food and help him find a shelter and some kind of job. Why? Cause I've given money to a homeless guy only to watch him go buy some booze and go back to the same damn spot drunk as ****..
As for why others don't do it?! Who knows?
--Every seen that show what would you do? The people who never stop to help always say they were to busy to notice or think about it.. What if that was god? I mean yeah if it was god they would make time for him, but not for some random person who was in need..
^See that's how I think.. But that's just me.
