I walked up to the guy twice in the time that we were there and gave him money and smiled at him, the first time he glanced at me and said thank you but the second time I did it he looked right up at me and said "God bless you son, people like you keep me alive." That really hit me :cry:
Sorry if this is a little bit tl;dr, but I just don't get why people would pass him by, at least smile at the guy or give a dollar, SOMETHING. Would you guys pass him by or would you give him money? Why or why not? I just don't get why you wouldn't.

There is such a huge stereotype for homeless people. Some of them, yes are alcoholics and some not. The ones that are mostly can't help it, and their addiction brought them onto the streets.
It's fine not giving money if you honestly do not have any to spare (there are people like this out there). If you can't give them money then I feel you don't have to.
Not all homeless people are bad, heck this guy was actually working for the money he was begging for. He was doing something, unlike a lot of other homeless people do.
I think that people who just look down their noses at them aren't very fair and should realise how bad it actually is for these homeless people.

I give to CharÍties and give to people like this guy on occasion, depending on their creativeness.
I feel bad sometimes, when I imagine myself being in that situation and how they got there.
I would like to think I would, at least, say thank you, but people get nervous around the homeless.
I almost don't want to see others suffering, so I don't have to think about and all of the misery in the world..
