(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); So I came across some people today talking about the day of science. Now that provoked me to think, why should gays automatically get our respect? I asked some of them and they said it was because they were born that way. Thet they have no choice. Now being the person I am, I was thinking "proof or gtfo" lol. So what do you think? Are gays really born that way? I personally say no.

How can someone be born SEXUALLY attracted to the same sex?
You're not even born sexually attracted to the opposite sex.

When I was growing up, nobody liked the opposite sex until they were about 5-9 years old.

Anybody remember the cooties?

My friends and I thought girls had "cooties" and that we needed a "cootie shot" before going anywhere near them. Girls thought guys had cooties too... remember "circle circle, dot dot" :mudkip:
But after we got a little older, everyone eventually stopped believing in that junk.

Gay people choose to pursue a relationship with the same sex, just like how straight people choose to pursue relationships with the opposite sex.

Nothing is forcing a gay person to be gay. You can't help what you like though. If you like the same sex, then you like the same sex. But claiming that you wanted to pursue a relationship with the same sex ever since the day you came out of the womb is asinine.

So there's no way a person is BORN gay.

Certain factors within the womb can increase the odd but far too many factors at play can counter it.

Earn my respect!!!
Who really care whether or not they were born gay, simple fact is that is human being and that human being is impredictable, nature is impredictable ,is all about who you are happy to be with and we all choose the best that suit us,even tho some never choose and just stay in the dark pretending living a life they dont even like.

I personally think that gay werent born gay. They were born normal like any other human. Probably physical abuse or some emotional made them turn Gay/Lesbian. Sometimes bullying can cause that

I think most people fail to see the point in the "I was born gay" statement. That argument is completely invalid, simply due to the fact that the sentence is taken too literally, and never seen for its true meaning. People know that they weren't actually born gay, straight, or any other sexuality (pedophilia, necrophilia, etc.) -- hormones are a deciding factor later in life. It's just saying how sexuality isn't a choice, it's completely natural no matter what you are. If it's you, it's you, regardless of what environment, people, or beliefs you were brought up with.

This whole argument is pointless, on both sides of it. Do you choose to be a heterosexual? Because if you do, you're acknowledging the fact that you'd be homosexual/transsexual/bisexual if your morals, friends, religion, and other factors would "condone" it, which only proves that you let society and culture keep you down, and that's your own fault.

People are brought up in anti-gay families, and turn out to be gay. People are born into gay families (more-so lesbian relationships than male-with-male), and turn out to be straight. There's nothing that makes it abnormal or normal, it just is. Whether you think that is completely dependent on what you believe in.

If you don't like it, ignore it; if you're part of it, don't shove it down other's throats. There's no problem with being proud of who you are, but c'mon.

I think it depends on childhood experiances. I dont think theres like a gene or whatever which makes you gay, its just how your brought up which affects it :y:

Yes, gay people are born gay.
Also, insulting people because of their sexuality is just as bad as insulting someone because of their race.

HOW THE F**K ARE PPL BORN GAY?! I mean, what is it? A random mutated gene? Technically speaking we are all born of heterosexuality. I challenge you to find proof otherwise. And I don't mean the chick that got turned into a dude and then got pregnant. He/she still had a vajayjay. I also don't believe it's choice, I believe it's nurture. Whether or not an individual is born into a mega-christian anti-gay household they can still become gay due to the rebellious factor of adolescence. And as far as the gene thing goes, just because someone is homosexual doesn't mean the have different hormones. They just don't secrete certain hormones when they encounter certain sexes. It's psychological. Some men like fat women, some ppl like thin, and some like men.

No one is born gay, homosexuality is a natural normal thing to occur in some ppls and is brought on by nurture.

I don't see how it can't be the same way with heterosexuality. The whole "instinct" thing won't work, either; male giraffes, foxes, penguins and over 1,500 different species of other animals **** each other.

I still think it has to do with hormones, because considering what people think about psychology pertaining to animals, we think it to be impossible. But since it's obviously not, as it occurs quite frequently, it all depends of the individual.

No one is born heterosexual, homosexual, nor any other sexuality. Sexual orientation is "developed" later in life. Otherwise, the "cooties" thing wouldn't happen between boys and girls at a young age, if we were meant to be, by genetic default, heterosexual.

If you want to be technical, it's possible that sexuality is based on genetics. Like brown hair, eye color, etc; it varies from person to person. (And don't forget, genetic doesn't always mean inherited.) But I'm not entirely sure.

EDIT: Re-reading your post, you say it's not a choice, but if the family is anti-gay, the teen will choose to be gay due to a rebellion factor. Inconsistency with your logic. =D
