I hate Lil Wayne, he is such a poser. His music is illiterate bullshit, all he talks about is drugs and money.. Yet people still buy it? It's mostly teenagers that think they're cool because they listen to him. He cannot rap at all, and anyone who thinks he can does not know real rap and what it was meant to be. I love listening to Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Deep Purple, Rainbow etc.. but when I go out, I have no choice but to listen to this new "garbage". These songs have absolutely no meaning at all and they are popular now, but in 2-3 months they will be forgotten. But I will admit some of them are very catchy, even though they don't have deep lyrics or amazing guitar solos

As far as "old school" rap/dirty old hip hopp, my favs are Run DMC, outKast, and The Beatsie Boys.
