(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Real music, not mainstream garbage. Rap and rock, I love listening to Ice Cube, Dr. Dre, N.W.A, Biggie Smalls, 2pac, Eazy E, Geto Boys, Nirvana, Third Eye Blind, Collective Soul, ACDC, Metallica.. Etc. I hate Lil Wayne, he is such a poser. His music is illiterate bullshit, all he talks about is drugs and money.. Yet people still buy it? It's mostly teenagers that think they're cool because they listen to him. He cannot rap at all, and anyone who thinks he can does not know real rap and what it was meant to be. Feel free to debate..

Old school rap will always be the shit. Lil Wayne does have some good stuff in my opinion. But other "rapers" singing stupid songs and coming up with a dance for it is completely ridiculous.

You raise a valid point. But I think what he is trying to say is that artists nowadays barely know how to write a song anymore. I haven't heard many mainstram songs with solid lyrics and an original score. Most of these "artists" barely even compose the instrumentals. They just cop it off the producers and get all the glory. Music should be all about passion, not a ruse to make money. If you like the kind of "artists" (notice how I didn't call them musicians) that write music for the sole purpose of making money than good on ya, that's your choice and I respect that. But for me personally. I always prefered the underdog. Someone who has raw talent and the drive to make music.

On bail right now
not tryna hate or anything, but your "real music" is basically as good as anyone lese's, if we didnt have classical music and the african drummin shit, no music would have really devolped of what it is today. I like alsorts of music, but you cant judge music due to how old it is :fa:. If that were the case id listen to beathoven, thats technically real music :dumb:

Why is rap and hip hop not to be considered real music? Music is 100% subjective. One could say the sound of a rock hitting the ground is music.. or if you want to stay more relevant music can be defined as an organised set of sounds. So really if it contains tonality and rythm.. Shouldn't it be considered a genre of music?

Hip Hop exploded during the 90's and turned into a profitable niche, and by 2000 it was being exploited like every other music genre, to the point where the original fans were out numbered by the younger generation with different taste. Hip Hop became so big it began to be broken into sub genre like Hip-Pop and Hip-Rock. But it has became pretty sad now, label would rather sign somebody like drake who has money to buy out his contact if he flopped. Compared to a starving artist with talent where if he flop's the label takes a hit and goes in debt. But this could change because of the way the internet is now, it just take one person to get big and bring his whole crew to the top and start an independent label where they sign who ever they want.

Its really a shame that big L died, I believe if he was not killed hip hop would be in a different state then it is right now. he was not the type of rappers that was gonna blow up then come back for his boys. he was bringing everybody to the top at the same time as him. Every time he is in an interview he made sure he big up'd everybody and make sure everybody knew he wasent doing this alone. Even Jay-z wanted to sign Big L, but Big L would not do it for any amount of money unless Jay signed some of his buddy's in the same contract. Its sad to think that the contracts were signed, sitting in big l's room and also a week away form his roc-a fella party when he was murdered.

The quote below form big l, describes what hip hop is missing.
