Post: Lowering the Legal Drinking Age

(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); I was just wondering what all of your thoughts on lowering the Legal drinking are. I personally think the drinking age in the U.S. should be lowered from 21 to 18. If a man can get married, vote for the president of his country, and join the military at 18, why can't he choose to have a drink or not? I would like to hear all of your thoughts on this

They give license to people who should never drive a car at that age, why give them the legal ability to buy alcohol? Sounds like a mistake waiting to happen.
If nothing else might lower the population, so why not?

Individuals cannot be taught to "drink" in moderation or sensibly, as common sense usually goes out the window once the alcohol kicks in.
Lowering the legal drinking age will allow adolescents themselves the right to purchase alcohol and start drinking earlier, which does not benefit the community as a whole.

Well we could either teach them about it, or let them experiment with it. Which they do anyway whether it's 21 or 18. People don't just KNOW how alcohol effects them or how much they can handle. It's all experience. And by the time you're 18 you should be able to make the choice to find that out.

The drinking age is 18 here and there are a lot of people who are really can't handle their drink. If the drinking age was higher people would just drink anyway so there isn't really much point.

95% of the people saying it should stay at 21 are probably over 21. So they couldn't care less what happens with it. All that runs through their minds is "Them kids and their shenanigans are too immature for alcohol even though we don't know for sure"
