Edit: Alright well seems as the staff members don't want me to tell you that they did indeed change the poll.

I do agree. This site use to be different then other sites and have more meaning. I mean you got TTG and S7 (well the more known big communities like ngu) that had the renewing premium option and I always said fuck that this is why I'm on ngu. Those sites have the renewing premium thing and ngu was like the only one different from that and that is what made us unique. No renewing problems or hassles just straight forward donate to support the site and get rewarded. Now it seems ngu has jumped on their boat and is starting to do the same things as all the other sites making us even less unique.
+ I thought we were trying to slowly slow down on the CoD related items on the site and bring in new stuff? I could have sworn I've heard or seen that trying to happen. But now with "Elite" + CoD Elite emblem as all of this Elite Founder etc.. Looks like it's embedded in even more now.

Alright so you made the site for us, we, us members. Of course your word is final but don't you think we deserve to know what's going on? Don't you think we should be able to say if we don't want something on the site? I can say the majority of premium members will say that we don't want Elite around. Yea new members means new threads which means new things to be added to premium. You take away that then nothing new will be posted because there're simply are no new members to post things. You were saying it cost's 800$ to run the site. Yes that is a lot of money but NGU gets ALOT of traffic in one day. A large percentage are guests or unregistered members, even non premium members and what does a premium feature bring? NO AD'S So your saying that you don't get a lot of money from the Ad's? I would be surprised if you don't. Also with premium you were getting around 800$ off donations in a month. You just wasn't reaching 1000$. I see the whole option of donating has gone from the site homepage and Elite is there in it's place. This is a good example of how Elite is replacing premium. I would like to add on a slightly off topic that, why is there're no mod applications? I think this is the best way to choose the new moderators rather then picking a handful of people. You can see who's different and why they should be chosen a lot easier then just picking someone. Maybe you need to stop trying to improve the site yourself and your minions and ask the people who NGU is a big part of their life. I go on NGU at least 5 times a week, and I'm on for a good amount of hours. Maybe if your going to make a big change ask the community first and see how we like it. Will all due respect we use the site, yes it's your site you get final word but we are the USERS. Without us NGU wouldn't be where it is today, I'm not asking for much just a simple opinion of someone else now and again.

Yes but he does take suggestion's from the community to help out the site. It isn't all his choice, he will listen and look out for new stuff that will help out.
Of course you have a right to be pissed of about Elite, but people going on and on about how pissed they are is making the site look unprofessional. We all have a right to express our opinion's but sometime's there being expressed in a bad way.

I dont think i have enough rep + posts to really have a say and be a respected member around here, but i just needed my opinion to be heard. I have been a fly in the wall the last couple of weeks and i felt i needed to include my points.
I have been thinking hard of thinGs we could include here but i am clueless on how to update a forum so i have no idea what is sensible or not.
Anyway this drama has caused some excitment to my night, im on holiday in fooking france and im bored shitless!!

To be fair, I'm not trying to take sides (I'm neutral like dat :p) but, what makes this site so different to other sites now that this site seems to be following all others with a monthly subscription?
As people have been saying; admins haven't listened to the majority of people, but rather the minority of staff. Many members haven't had their say in anything over the past few years, I for one have witnessed this.
If you're so hyped up about change, Outsider; maybe you should change the way staff team works too. I've always said; the staff I have grown to like and be friends with most of them, but when I need help, I message them, and 99% of the time, they'd ignore me. I remember when I had some major issues with my account, I messaged every admin, and only coltz-one replied. And this was 2 days after I sent the message. There's no excuse for having "busy admins", as there are, what? Like 6? And if they're busy with issues in real life which is over a prolonged period, they shouldn't really be staff - get someone in who has more expertise.
On the otherhand of that; guys, face it. Premium was/is dead. Everyone now posts for rep, or vBux or something like that. The majority of users are non-premium, so they'll post where non-premiums can see it, to gain more rep. Elite only is alive because it's a new thing. Before long, it will be like premium - dead. I respect a lot of the admins judgements, as half the time, they know what they're doing. Elite was put in place to cover server costs. Premium on it's own wasn't generating enough to pay for the $800+ servers which NGU runs on, and don't forget, there will be other expenses which will need to be paid. Outsider only gets about $100 at the end of all his payments.
As I said, I'm not taking sides, just expressing my opinion.

What you don't understand is that I take every single suggestion that I run across with no bias. I never play favorites. I don't care how long you have been on the forum; if I see someone needs help, I help them. Regardless of rep or rank. I can't speak for other staff members because that is just how forums work. We try to keep it as fair as possible though, and for the most part, I think NGU is. I understand where you are coming from with all your suggestions, but I think this was the only way to go about this. If we gave free Elite to premiums, I do not believe it would have worked. I'm just stating my opinion outie. And I'm sure many other's would agree with that. Why not work with something that already has 5k members in instead of starting something brand new that will take another 4 years to build up. You don't have to get all dickish like that and starting saying stupid shit like that. And I made the decision to step down because I could see things were changing like that and didn't make sense to me. Once again just stating my own opinion and you have your own opinion of your own. And so do every other member in this thread have their own opinion.

Outie I'm gonna be for real right now bro. Like no bs or anything. I myself and I have talked to other staff in the past and some of the team right now. This is no lie, joke or to even be stupid. When you're on staff and or anything related to staff you really can't voice your opinions. Because that just get's you deep into shit on staff it felt to me. I mean that either leads into a fight, get demoted or hell somebody gets into a fight and then they get demoted for it. If somebody comes up with an Idea you can't really say oh no that fucking sucks wouldn't work out well etc.. You just kinda gotta say ok whatever let's go with it instead of saying what you have to say and then if you do disagree with somebody then that person starts talking shit behind their back etc making even more people not like them etc.. Repeating process. Me I would have loved to have open staff convos where people can say what is on their minds without having like a cult start up and shit talking begin behind your back. I've seen it happen many of times on staff which makes me mad.
I know you guys can no longer take this shit and when I was on staff I went through the same shit and to me there will always be people disagreeing with shit that won't be able to be fixed. It's like beating a dead horse with a hammer. After I got use to staff I would just roll with the punches did not give a fuck with what they said but you still gotta take their opinions in and see what could make their ngu experience better and or what could help it even more. I don't mean to be a dick outie and don't mean to go off like that. It does get tiring listening to people moan and bitch about something and I will agree to that.

Believe me, Its the worst holiday ever, i still have 12 days to go
!!I understand that giving Premiums free Elite is a stupid idea, but maybe a week free trial to see what its like instead of the 1.99$ would work better imo, like in my last post i said that the Elite Forum will eventually fade just like the premium, maybe if the Premiums can see its a sustainable forum and maybe, if we like it, we will subscribe, I would cerainly subscribe if i thought the forum was head and shoulders better than premium and if i got the oppertunity to see it for free it might persuade me to pay for the extra perks. just a thought?
