(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Let's be honest, this is the end of premium. Now that Outsider's team of money makers has added this new Elite, no one has any chance of new stuff being posted in here. I sometimes post from time to time when I have decent enough things to post but unless you BUY Elite your not worth anything and also wont be getting anything from premium. Elite is just the new premium for Outsider and his highly trained money makers to earn more money. They were slacking back on donations and not reaching the goal these days but Hey, they added another premium and named it different and added some new things to make it look better. Premium is worth as much as normal membership and I donated to help the site. I've watched the site change over the years and I've been here and been as loyal as I could. Now, I would think don't premiums deserve Elite? They shaped the site into what it is today and what do we get? Thanks for being premium but we need more money. Let's watch it, no shit will be posted on here, slowly but surely it will just fall behind, no one will care any more and soon they will just remove it all together. I don't think this is very fair at all but we may as well say goodbye all together to premium now. We aren't premium any more, were just membership. Strange how we didn't get a say in if we wanted it or not. Could of just upgraded premium. Nah we just want more money.

Fare-well premium I don't want you to go at all but hey, it wasn't us who changed it.

Disclaimed: You don't like I said? Tough it's the internet I can say what I want. This is also my opinion if you want to express yours your more then welcome to, and if you want to argue, go ahead just don't expect me to give a fuck.

Edit: Alright well seems as the staff members don't want me to tell you that they did indeed change the poll.

It was:

Elite
Is
Fucking
Stupid

And they changed it to:

Elite
Is
Fucking
AWESOME

Also I will keep editing this back to the way I wanted to post it. There's nothing in the rules that state I can't do what I did.

Haha, hope the trip is going well! Happy What you don't understand is that I take every single suggestion that I run across with no bias. I never play favorites. I don't care how long you have been on the forum; if I see someone needs help, I help them. Regardless of rep or rank. I can't speak for other staff members because that is just how forums work. We try to keep it as fair as possible though, and for the most part, I think NGU is. I understand where you are coming from with all your suggestions, but I think this was the only way to go about this. If we gave free Elite to premiums, I do not believe it would have worked. This way has worked how we have wanted it to. New members have become very interested in Elite and see nothing wrong with the system. I know we used to have the Premium for 10$ deal, but things had to change. We aren't going to have the same core of members forever; we need to add new members along the way in order for the site to succeed. Premiums may have got somewhat of a raw deal, but it's been a 4 year system.

And to Reaper, you're just butthurt you are of no consequence anymore on a site you once administrated and still spend hours on per day. You don't need to repeatedly write negative opinions about NGU everywhere you go. We get it, you're not happy with NGU anymore. Get over it, you made the decision to step down. Now enough acting like a baby.

I lol'd so hard at the bit highlighted in bold. For the most part, you're incorrect. I remember when you were inactive for months on end, and other admins (Luke, Gobz, etc) had to constantly inform us, that they were helping us out, and that they were bringing up new ideas; which the site could grow on. As said in my previous post, I remember messaging EVERY admin about issues on my account, no reply from any admins until 2 days later, when Coltz-One replied. Furthermore, I messaged all admins a second time about an idea; NGU Radio. None replied to this, and I had to get a "lower-ranking" staff member to bring it up to you.

This proves that you do not help every member to the best of your ability. I have always said I have never chosen sides, but this forum has been through a lot of shit, wrong decisions, and members quitting on you on a daily basis. I could list these:

-NGU Rep limit.
-Removal of NGU rep
-NGU rep brought back in
-Rep limited to only "thanks/groans"
-New rep system was introduced.
-Rep prestige.
-Rep prestige abolished, as well as the limit of thanks/groans.
-Can't -rep
-Abolished that too.
-Now can -rep, and we're back to the first system with a few tweaks such as rep limit.

This is just one of the many things which NGU, for one, cannot seem to make it's mind up about.

As for reputation, also in the past. Yes, we've had issues with it, but jesus. Give us a break man. We all make mistakes, and we are still learning and growing as a team/individuals. There's no set way to run a forum. This is all based on ideas and experiments. We are doing our best.

I'll give you that; what I did mention was in the past. I can't say much about the "help" part; as I've learnt to deal with situations on NGU on my own, any major issues I have; such as not being able to login, I'd contact an admin, or someone who can get a hold of an admin. As for experiments, learning, ideas, etc, I for one feel as though the community isn't being told as much about things as it should. Take Elite for example; I'm not bashing it, but nobody knew about Elite, until it came out. A lot of decisions with NGU; the community haven't been told about. Whether this is just me, I don't know, but I feel that way.

To be honest Outsider, Reaper is a cool guy, he was my favourite Admin, I thought he always did his job even though I never saw his face he was defiantly the most active and posted. This is a bit off topic but he even said happy birthday despite everything you said about him. But back on topic now.

We just wanted to get something new out, but from now on, I promise to keep everyone informed. I make announcements all the time now Smile

Thank you :fa:

That's what members will like now then :y: an admin who is active and makes announcements. When you were inactive; most people felt like you were just "the owner" and nothing else; just reaping all the benefits of the site. Now that you've said you're more active; etc, you'll be the admin which everyone will know of for the right reasons, and not the wrong.

As for Reaper, I remember way back when he wasn't even premium.. When he was staff; he always helped out and spoke to members and listened to them. When he became admin, I would of said he was one of the most friendliest admins by far :y:

You're right. NGU Premium has always been said as a user-based forum. But because Elite is new; people will post in there instead. And because most premium members want the rep, they'll post in non-premium forums, where there's more chance of being repped.

i completely agree.... for one, none of us knew about this until the day they released it, second, it's obviously a ploy for extra money. what idiot would willingly pay recurring fees for a rank on a forum for extra smileys, a few new features, and an exclusive board? i wouldn't have a single problem with elite if it were a single lifetime payment, like Premium was, except it would cost more like $50 USD or whatever, but obviously NGU is so starved for funds, Outsider wants to rape our wallets for extra crap instead of simply asking nicely for contributions like a normal person would. i'm not saying i don't understand the situation, how server costs and domain fees need to be paid for, but with so many people who purchased the premium rank, and god knows how many donations people give in over time, don't you think there would still be plenty of funds left over? i'm sure outie has a job as well, so with that adding into the donations, i'm sure NGU could be easily kept online without the need to add yet another bullshit rank that's basically premium, with a few added features.... don't you think? Another thing i would like to elaborate on is how nobody was told about this, and the community wasn't given any say or knowledge of elite, or the option to say "no" to this new feature until the very day it was added. don't you think any good owner of a large community like NGU would want to stay on the good side of the userbase instead of purposefully denying us the right to say whether we like a feature that may or may not be added before it is added? Shame on you, Outsider. no offense.

sorry if i came off as a bit of a bitch/whiner, whatever you prefer to call it, but i needed to get that off my chest.

Edit: also, look at Outie, groaning at all the replies that hate on Elite.... there goes any respect i still had for the guy.

1.) You're not being forced to buy Elite.
2.) The Premium forums are still there. If you want them to be active, post in there.

not trying to sound like a total pissoff or anything, i'm just saying. But you could have given the community a say in this, then you wouldn't have so many people hating on it, you know? I've got experience with running forums in the past, so i know not to piss off my members from experience. the less you allow the community to participate in the site's developmental process, the more likely you are to anger people and lose potential donators/longstanding members when you release something like this.

Edit: forgot to mention before i hit the post button, but i'm just trying to be as straightforward as i possibly can with this, like i said, i'm not trying to sound like i'm just posting nothing but hate. i DO respect you for being able to create and run such a successful board such as NGU and keep the activity flowing, but like i said, you do have to keep your members happy.
