You talkin to me?
(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Well I consider myself decently chivalrous. I'm a kind person, I attempt to be the best I can be, I help those in need, I would never hurt a female(in self defence I would hold her down until she calms down), I'm always cautious with the words I use around others, I would never start a fight and I would never throw the first punch.

I've look at all the people I know and it feels like 1 out of 10 people I know have some sort of chivalry in them.

I know some people are going to say that nowadays women want to feel equal. I'm not saying that is wrong. For me I would treat my significant other equal but I would still put them on a pedestal.

Basically I'm asking you guys to look at yourself and ask yourself Do you have any amount of chivalry in you?

EDIT:
Dammit I forgot to add the poll.

No. It's not dead. I still hold doors for women if you mean stuff in that nature.

I hope it is.

Whether you like it or not, treating women better than men perpetuates the myth that all women are weak and that all men are strong, and that in turn creates a whole array of problems.

Before people start moaning, I hold doors open for everyone, and if as a last resort I turn to violence I won't discriminate based on gender.

Hmmmmm. Never thought of it that way. I always thought of it as being respectful.

You don't like women do you?

Being nice to people doesn't mean that women are weaker, who the hell told you that?

You can be chivalrous to men as well, having common courtesy and etiquette is not foreign, nor does it make a man or woman any weaker then they already were, for you to think that, i will assume you have none yourself.

It isnt dead, its just many people don't have a manner of treating other people the way they deserve to be treated. Most people are disrespectful, so i hope that effectively answers your question.

I've always been respectful to women. I hold doors open for everyone, but I always do it for teachers, women, and other girls when I'm out and about. I guess being raised in my household, it was just the way that I was taught to behave. I know the double standard between men and women, but being respectful to women is not the same thing. I'm really only annoyed when I see that women get easier prison sentences, as well as the "It's only sexist when men do it." And you know what, I agree with those last two points, but to me, being respectful is not the same thing as that.

Thank the heavens not everyone thinks like clutch, seriously.

If there were 2 more clutch's i dont think i would be able to maintain myself, due to all the weak arguments and claims.

Lol being respectful makes women appear weaker? Gee, and i thought i knew what the hood was like.

I don't actually think that though, it's just that some people could interpret it like that.

I run into very few women who actually take my courtesy as an insult.

In fact, i have women who do things like hold the door open for me and supply me other niceties as well, so i don't know what the hell clutch is talking about rofl, common courtesy is exactly that, common, if someone wants to perform and operate as a kind and respectable person, then that is a personality trait that can be shared, learned, and taught, it is something that will raise kind intelligent and respectful people, how is that a bad thing again?

There is absolutely nothing wrong with Clutch's thinking, in fact I think very similarly. He is in fact very right by saying, "treating women better than men perpetuates the myth that all women are weak and that all men are strong, and that in turn creates a whole array of problems." We should treat everyone equally, regardless of gender, race, or beliefs. That's just the way it should be and as time progresses, that's the way it will be. I treat everyone the way I would want to be treated, I follow the Golden Rule, as should everyone else. And you get the feeling the Clutch doesn't like girls? I mean come on, just because he wants to treat everyone EQUALLY and you want to put the opposite sex on a pedestal, doesn't mean he doesn't like girls. He wants equality, which is what many feminists want (although to be honest, I'm not a fan of feminists in the first world, but that's another story.) Everyone should be treated equally, it shouldn't matter, but by treating the opposite sex differently you are in fact being kind of a sexist. So all in all, treat others the way you want to be treated and don't treat other people differently.
