You talkin to me?
(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Well I consider myself decently chivalrous. I'm a kind person, I attempt to be the best I can be, I help those in need, I would never hurt a female(in self defence I would hold her down until she calms down), I'm always cautious with the words I use around others, I would never start a fight and I would never throw the first punch.

I've look at all the people I know and it feels like 1 out of 10 people I know have some sort of chivalry in them.

I know some people are going to say that nowadays women want to feel equal. I'm not saying that is wrong. For me I would treat my significant other equal but I would still put them on a pedestal.

Basically I'm asking you guys to look at yourself and ask yourself Do you have any amount of chivalry in you?

EDIT:
Dammit I forgot to add the poll.

Why should parents teach chivalry over basic, gender-neutral common courtesy?

I would say no, its not dead. Just certain males decide to continue with chivalry while douchebags are well... douchebags. Ive been with my girlfriend for over a year. I hold the door for just about everything, i never hit her(unless were playing around then she gets hurt, then i feel bad), im always kind and courteous.

But aside from that you need to be kind to everyone, show respect for others and yourself.

You'll call people like myself a douchebag and yet you're the sexist.

I think you need to find some better guys because no all them are bad and have no chivalry. Classing your bad experiences with the whole male population is preposterous as we aren't all the same.

Also to the OP, I wouldn't start a fight with a girl or hit her but I have had girls in the past who have tried to hit me, I had one who actually sat on my chest and while we were making out and then start punching me in the face because she thought I cheated. I grabbed her arms and flipped her over onto the bed and held her while she kicked me screaming at me to hit her back and treat her like I would with a guy.. I didn't hit her and I never would have but really, if I had of I would have heard about how I hit woman etc coming from her when she was screaming at me to do it. Fucked up society.
