Post: Mass Shootings/Guns

Trolling is a art
(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Sadly, mass shootings are a thing in our society. However, far too many people are far too quick to place the blame on the gun, instead of the person responsible. We blame drunk drivers for crashing and killing people, bombers for creating bombs that kill people, and stabbers for stabbing someone...but yet when it comes to guns, we blame the gun and try to ban or restrict them. Today's mass shooting, like every other recent high profile mass shooting, took place in a so called "gun free zone" where it is posted by the owners that guns are not allowed. Here's the problem. CRIMINALS DON'T OBEY THE FUCKING LAW. So by posting up a facility as a gun free zone, all you are doing is making it an extremely easy target for someone planning something nefarious, since most law abiding citizens won't bring a gun into the gfz. Yet, look up at the times where someone with a gun stopped someone else who had opened fire. You don't hear about them, because they never had a chance to become a mass shooting since a good guy with a gun stopped the bad guy with the gun before he could do serious damage. Point and case: Gun control doesn't work, and gun free zones are like big painted targets for mass shooters. Now, I'm not so bad as to say we shouldn't have background checks, but instead of our government trying to institute MORE background checks and other restrictions like standard capacity magazine bans, Modern Sporting Rifle (omg it's a gun but it looks extra scary, lets ban it) etc. why not actually fix and enforce the current laws on the books? The current National Instant Check System should do the job, but being a government handled entity, it has it's failure. Fix that and enforce other laws instead of trying to take away the rights of millions of law abiding gun owners.

Rant Over.
Discuss.

I cba arguing with you all but;

You allow someone to have easy access with a deadly weapon. Where all it takes is a split second to pull the trigger to end someones life. A knife, you have to physically WALK up to the victim. You have to pull through with it all the way to the end, where as with a gun it's just a split second pull of a trigger no thinking about it. Guns allow easy killing without any thinking needed if you already have a gun under your pillow or wherever.

Predators like when their prey is unarmed. They target "gun free zones". This is all a plan by our corrupt leaders. In the next 30 years the United States will no longer be "free". Instead we will live under martial law. Completely owned by our government more than we already are. They are trying to stop us gun owners from being able to revolt down the road.

Message to our leaders, you mess with the bull you get the horns.

Either way you are pretty committed. But thanks for putting in the same 2 cents everyone else already did.

You can think of it this way though. Killing someone with a gun is a little less personal, where as with anything else you have to just be a piece of shit to go through with it right? Since you know it's "harder"?

Yet you have gun crime. Shocker right?
When proven wrong, the other party never seems to give a fuck.

I defeated!
I am having issues understanding, how this is protecting citizens. I don't know about the statistics regarding this though, but have there been many episodes where having a gun home helped? When people break into your house, it's usually when you are not home.

There are no country in the world, that has this many school shootings a year that USA has.

I don't think removing weapons would help anything, because USA is massive and removing all of them is mission impossible. Should of been done years ago.

Looks like anyone is capable of getting weapons too, most of the ones that did the school shootings where psycho's.

United States
- Every year, guns are used over 80x more often to protect a life than to take one
- Women use a gun 200,000 times a year to protect against sexual assualt
- 3/5 Felons say they would not mess with an armed victim

Since not only this thread but NextGenUpdate as a community has lots of members from UK as well here are some side by side statistics.
(I am in no way bashing on the UK, my dream is to one day live in London)

*Could only find stats from 2011

Here are the homicide counts for the UK and the US

as you can see in 2011 the USA had 14,003 more homicides. Seems like a ton correct?

But if we look at the rate per 100,000 residents the US only had a little under 5 homicides per residents.

Now if we look at the US census from 2011 and the UK census from 2011,
If we divide the US population for the UK population you will see that the US has a little under 5 times as many people than the UK, see where I am going with this.

A country that has guns banned somehow has the same homicide rate when compared to amount of residents.

However since this is such a controversial topic I will not be replying anymore and we can all go back to being friends instead of arguing. Happy

I love all of you fellow NextGenUpdate members <3 Just though I should post some facts.
