You can mod your GT5 save file to change the horsepower on the cars. I am dying to figure this out. Apparently it's done through hex with the GT5.0 file from your save (perhaps it has to be decrypted first) . I am going to begin experimenting now. If anyone gets on to something please share! And I will share any progress I make as well.

I have a Subaru with 2300hp @ 9400rpm but it doesn't drive like it has that. I can't figure why.

Do I have to load it on to an older patch? Grrrr.

But not before documenting the save game procedure.

I don't really know what to do. I can modify the HP, PP, RPM of any car, but it just doesn't carry over into the game. In my garage it shows the HP, but when I click the 'tuning' tab it shows that it is still at stock power levels. :n:

I am not interested in these million horsepower car, they broke GT5.
As a real driving simulator, its a bad way to use that car, hurt PolyphonyDigital and GranTurismo's idea also

But in this discussion, i found some nice concept that can be done by modifying hex in savedata like engine swapping,
we all know GT5's tuning suck, as it cannot have large modification like Forza and other racing game did
To improve such weakness, i start investigate these tons of bytes data and I hope it can make GT5 more better while we are waiting GT6, PS4...etc.

Not just change some hp value into hell, but meaningful and also realistic modification :P

As a newbie, hope someone can share more experience and gained knowledge to me
I want to learn and finish it by myself to be meaningful , but need some help :( thx

I wonder what else can be achived with editing the game save in Hex other than just hybrid cars, I wonder if anything could be done with the course maker as it is so limited in the game.

One thing I think would be great to see is some longer tracks, especially for Mt Aso. It's impossible to get a Mt Aso course longer than 2 miles, Would be amazing to have some 6 mile long Mt Aso tracks as a Touge fanatic.

But I expect anything to do with the course maker isn't on the save file and is contained on the disc it self.
