Though, if this is the method how PD are going for with GT7, and they don't spoil it for whatever reason.. better take a seat when listening to sounds then..

The AES engine in 1.08 (which was at the time when that specific /carsound/aes/xxxxx file was modded) was already able to produce some astonishing sound (that, except for the developers, no one else might have heard yet).

It's just too bad, that I don't have the time to get further into it. On a current patch level..
Too much other stuff going on Winky Winky

Wow, this is interesting stuff. . .

The video can give at least an idea of how it sounds with the Lexus VGT. Im digging the AES, I hope its whats going into GT7 albeit more refined and applied to all cars to the fullest Happy

I hope the day come when you got a bit of free time the console is sitting there and the curiosity strikes you Happy whenever you go digging you find the coolest stuff. Glad to see you're popping in from time to time still.

Always good to see you Bro.

Of course I don't know PD's internal plans, but I'm thinking that they're going for AES with GT7. From the files I have looked at back then, it looks like it is a real generic format which allows for up to 16 cylinders and even stuff like setting the firing order + delay for each cylinder and whatnot. Ok, a "one cylinder" didn't sound really well.. though it heavily reminded me of a one-cylinder motorbike Winky Winky
I must admit, I haven't looked at it in recent versions, but again, stuff back then was already looking very promising.

That is a fresh direction. Usually even the games that sound great and authentic after a few hours of playing them you begin to realize itss just played back recordings and not very if at all dynamic. These AES cars sound different, not like a recording so much more. The sound from the engine is communication and straight recording playback is not communicating as much as dynamic sounds.

Its like an engine sound generation engine, Brilliant

Yeah thats true and you already have hooked me with a lot. I shouldn't get greedy Happy

My question becomes what has got q-k fascinated? I know Im a GT fanboy but if its gaming related and a fresh enough title Id like to check out the kind of stuff that you're into.

Something like this may be on its way

VW GTI VGT Looks like something may have got the right Buzzzz looks like these GT6 concept cars can have some real world realization much like Concept cars before the VGT program. In Your Face Buttheads who trash talk the VGT program bitching about wanting more real cars STFU and appreciate the next level of GENIUS the VGT program is, stop riding Dick.

In fact it is a real time synthesized sound. No recordings necessary for that, all calculated and processed in real time.

It's not a game. Something completely different. But current state is, it will not be released in public, so I won't talk further about that Winky Winky

Its innovations like this that I love, and the concept of real time innovation I feel is similar to PoDi working with real world car specs to recreate whats going on through specs over simple manipulation of a blank car to arrive at desired outcome, HP is recreated in a real time fashion though specs and the environment recreation as a whole is improved to increase realism. Improve how HP is recreated or how weight is transferred in real time as a whole improves the realism of all cars etc. I'm confident PoDi has gone after KW target frequencies from the 7 post rig and the GT6 engine is basically the old engine configured to go after KW frequency data, I'm interested in seeing how much deeper incorporated the KW data becomes

Its an evolving bit of software

I never made my own disappointment about GT6 a secret thing. I am still quite disappointed about GT6, though it has its own advantages over GT5.
However.. Yeah, it has evolved over some of the GT5 drawbacks. Like the AES sound engine..

I gave up about GT7 on the PS4 earlier. But meanwhile, my hopes are that PD get their stuff going for the PS4. With all cars (regardless of standars or premium) having their own AES sound and PD managing to get Logitech wheels going on the PS4.
From what I read, it is just a matter of getting the drivers into their own code. I think (and hope) that they are targeting for this.
If not, I won't instantly buy it on release day, but just have a look on some forums and other reviews then. And then, I can still make up my mind about if I'd really like to support them further with my earned cash Smile
