(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Im am very excited about CFW release but im very worried about one thing.

About 9 hours ago i was browsing on PSU fourms and i came across by the person was comment saying he already stored CFW on his PS3 and able go online with CFW....to Play MOH game for an hour. 5 hours later He turn his PS3 on again to play more but his PSN account got banned just liked that. (i don't know he telling true or not)
Other guy reply to him and said he believes that the Database was tracking it and that caused his account to banned.

I was shitting myself because i have heard the word of "Database" before and i found this link thread again from 2 weeks ago, of course i was there when i replyed it.

This link here was originally disscusing about Trophy exploit but it was more into discussing about Database by Mcstyle24.

Just read it all until you get to page 2 when mc telling what database can do to your PS3.
Mc was ex-employee from Sony in past and i don't have premission from Mc because he wasn't signed in for a week.

So it's up to you guys if you planning installing CFW
Right now i really don't know if i should use CFW yet because of Database.

Well I can tell you all the "database" games list didn't get me banned. I have 3 PS3's, all with blackb0x and FTP server on it, they sign in and work fine.

With CFW I can't say anything, I'm not installing yet, gonna wait a week or so for the whole thing to calm down a bit and see any risks like this.

Are you high?
Multiple people would have to report you and show proof of what you are doing. It looks the same to Sony as there own firmware

you cant get banned because if they could see database then y dont ban people that have blackbox and other homebrews and hacked games.

THIS IS SO STUPID, SONY CAN ONLY DECTECT THE VERSION OF THE FIRMWARE YOUR RUNNING. He didnt change anything in the version number, thats why he didnt name it anything else. That firmware could have easily been named by his name, but he didnt want to. Plus, PSN can only send data of your game ID that your running.

The fact is you save stuff into memory, if you sign into the server and there are logs set up and this data does than = this then well YES you could get banned. I don't know anything about the CFW as of yet(didn't even know it was out) but if the hash or file size or whatever doesn't add up they can detect that, really its not that hard.

Of course now that we have the ability of complete control we could basically revert everything Sony puts in place, even bans most likely. Server sided stuff is a no go, as well obviously its on their server. So we have the possibility to be banned on one account but play on another, not just the other one if it was a server ban.

If you know ANYTHING about hardware then think... it is possible but now that we can sign we can pretty much get around anything.

EDIT: Technically we can be banned but we can always prevent it with the ability to get stuff signed. Ever see when you download a file it provides a hash well 3.55 has hash but if ours doesn't match then yes its detectable, but if we sign it and make it the same size, hash or whatever then Sony will have a hard time detecting.

For ONLINE cheating? YES, YES, YES. To cheat online you either have to mod the patch but now that we sign do expect an actual cheat device using ASM to mod games like to have Inf health/ammo etc. Problem with this? Its DETECTABLE. Also reportable which is a given. When you modify the RAM of some game(games assembly code) they can set up so the server can detect changes. Only way to avoid is somehow getting online(onto an actual game) but being hidden from the server or rewriting the code to be untraceable.

You Sir, are a legend. This is completely true and he is totally right. Obviously they can detect a change in the hash between our 3.55 and their 3.55. This is just basic things that mostly any body can work out for themselves. If we can change something on THEIR consoles, they can sure as hell detect quite a lot of it. The reason people with CL's weren't banned was probably because Sony knew there was going to be a massive outbreak of it, they knew they couldn't stop everybody that was hosting them so they didnt bother banning anybody.

Yes, I admit I did install the CFW until I came to sense and re-installed the OFW. I really do not think it is worth getting banned for as of it. There isn't much stuff we can do with it right now because we have to sign it. Nobody has released a guide and notice how ALL the people saying "my MATE is working on signing the ftp now, should be done soon" are all low repped people. Put 2 and 2 together guys. Im going to wait until somebody has all the stuff in one thread e.g. Backup manager and FTP Server signed and then I probably will consider using it. I don't have the luxury of having 2 PS3's to myself, my Dad has one and so does my sister so I will wait until this is FULLY tested and I think that you people that are worried should too.

mcstyle24 is exactly dead right about that. They do have a database that stores information on everything you do, and as soon as you sign in, it uploads it to sony. So…unless the database can be hacked too, it’s definately a good idea to use caution with a hack. *shivers*….now that i think about it, i really hate that. Feels like “big brother” invaded my ps3. And yes….this would potentially pave the way for “open source” allowing homebrew modified web browsers.

We all know mcstyle24 used to work for Sony that why he keep himself low profile, since CFW release mcstyle24 was no where to be found at this timeEek
