First download the CFW Waninkoko: You must login or register to view this content.

1. Download PS3 Firmware 3.55 (OFW) (PS3UPDAT.PUP file) here: You must login or register to view this content.

2. Patch PS3UPDAT.PUP file with the patch included in this package using the "bsdiff" tool (You must login or register to view this content.).

Then:

-Install the patched PUP file like a normal firmware update.
(in case you're already in 3.55 you need to install it in recovery mode).

NOTE: IF YOU ARE IN CFW 3.55 GEOHOT:
1. CFW 3.55GEO to OFW 3.55 with the recovery
2. Install CFW 3.55 waninkoko with the recovery

We don't support and condone the usage of illegal copies.
We are not responsible for any damage for the usage of this Custom Firmware.

POSSIBLE BRICK SOLUTION:

1) We put the console in factory with an usb jig

2) We will put in the root the update 3.55 (PS3UPDAT.PUP) and also lv2diag of naima.

3) We will put the pendrive in the nearest port of the reader bd, we turn on the ps3 and we will see that the pendrive blinks ... we allow that it intall correctly.

4) There was coming a moment in which the green led of ps3 start to blinking indefinitely, we turn off the ps3 and plug off the jig.

5) We turn on the ps3, if all has been correctly we have the red square of the factory mode.

6) We turn off the ps3, remove the condition of factory mode, and turn on the ps3... if everything works correctly is that it has not given no problems.

Nonetheless, we advise you that once have all good in the xmb use the recovery and to reinstall 3.55 for if something was absent.

Same here. I'm currently trying to just completely restore my console back to factory settings and giving it another shot. I've been up nearly all night trying to get my backup launcher to work.

Backup manager fails/Can't install packages/This firmware blows balls at the moment and i dont suggest downloading it. GeoHot firmware is the best hands down and will continue to be. Not much else to say. Geo > This shyznit

I wonder if you could use it to patch GeoHots firmware.... Thus keeping package support, homebrew, and possibly backup support? no?

Ok... So what exacly has been confirmed for this cfw? Does multiman work on it or not?
01-17-2011, 02:36 PM #28
I got frozen black screen trying to load them.... also note that if you dont have it already pre-installed then you cant use it. This firmware wont let you install packages at the moment. So atleast for the moment being its useless but maybe after the said "Tools" are released this firmware may have some worth. It may even amount to more then GeoHot's who knows..... But for the moment being it is a paper weight firmware. We"ll have to wait and see. I strongly suggest waiting till the tools are released before updating. Because it was pretty much nothing.
