Then:

-Install the patched PUP file like a normal firmware update.
(in case you're already in 3.55 you need to install it in recovery mode).

NOTE: IF YOU ARE IN CFW 3.55 GEOHOT:
1. CFW 3.55GEO to OFW 3.55 with the recovery
2. Install CFW 3.55 waninkoko with the recovery

We don't support and condone the usage of illegal copies.

POSSIBLE BRICK SOLUTION:

1) We put the console in factory with an usb jig

2) We will put in the root the update 3.55 (PS3UPDAT.PUP) and also lv2diag of naima.

3) We will put the pendrive in the nearest port of the reader bd, we turn on the ps3 and we will see that the pendrive blinks ... we allow that it intall correctly.

4) There was coming a moment in which the green led of ps3 start to blinking indefinitely, we turn off the ps3 and plug off the jig.

5) We turn on the ps3, if all has been correctly we have the red square of the factory mode.

6) We turn off the ps3, remove the condition of factory mode, and turn on the ps3... if everything works correctly is that it has not given no problems.

Nonetheless, we advise you that once have all good in the xmb use the recovery and to reinstall 3.55 for if something was absent.

I suggest that we wait till a proper BM is made on geohott's fw cause there are several people reporting back bricks on slim and phat consoles we know geohott's fw is working and Waninkoko's fw won't allow you to install pkg's until either his gets better or there is a proper BM on geohott's I suggest waiting just my opinion.

I have updated 5 PS3 and they all work.

Mine is a 20GB backward compatible with broken bluray drive..

3 slims and a 40GB Phat.

Those who are bricking are not following the instructions... I have included the file i am using.....

If you are on a firmware <3.55 just put this file in your usb drive (PS3/UPDATE/PS3UPDAT.PUP). Update the firmware like any ofw….

If you are already on 3.55, make sure you start your ps3 in recovery mode and follow the on screen guide.
How to Access Playstation Recovery Menu
1. Turn off Playstation®3.

2. Hold The power button down; The system will turn on and turn off once again.

3. Once the System has been shutdown, re-press you finger until you hear 2 consecutive beeps

4. When you hear the 2 beeps take finger off power button.

5. You will be promted to plug in your controller via usb and then hit the PS button

6. The Recovery menu will pop up.

Have fun…

so this cfw dosn't work at all...

According to some users, updating this CFW over geohot's CFW allows multiman to be used to its full capability and allows you to still install .pkg files but who knows, i'll wait it out don't want to run the risk of bricking my precious PS3 lol.
