im gona call sony tomorow but i wanted some input on this from the community first.

acualy you can i have 2 ps3's and they were both on cfw and i upgraded one by restoring it to factory settings and than i updated it and restored my old backup from my external harddrive

did u go from cfw to ofw before updated?

I Think Sony has made this problem ,i mean they create the red screen while updating and yellow of death.

This looks like the PS3 equivalent of a PC's bluescreen.

I seen that before people call it the red screen of death on youtube i had this come up on my 40 gig model then it stopped and gave me YLOD. I agree with the other post call sony only tell them that this red screen came up after you update 3.56 otherwise they won't help.
