Post: How To play Killzone 3 From USB HDD
02-16-2011, 12:39 PM #1
(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); The reason we need to do this is because Killzone 3 contains a file above 4GB in size as many of you will know you cannot put files above 4GB on A fat32 Usb Drive and because the ps3 dose not support ntfs this is the only way to transfer the files besides FTP in a way that multiMAN etc.. can read them.

Tested using 2D rip and multiMAN 1.15.00

1. Download OpenSplit 1.2 You must login or register to view this content.

2. Extract OpenSplit and run OpenSplit v1.2.jar

3. Click Split Big Files To .666xx
You must login or register to view this content.

4. Go to game folder e.g. BCES01007 select open
You must login or register to view this content.

5. It will begin to split the large file into 1 gb parts once at 100% quit OpenSplit
You must login or register to view this content.

6.Go to \BXXX-XXXXX\PS3_GAME\USRDIR\ it should now look like this:
You must login or register to view this content.

7.Copy the BXXX-XXXXX Folder to your GAMEZ Folder on Your External USB Drive.
You must login or register to view this content.

8. Enjoy

i have GT5. all the files on my pc and inside the USRDIR there is a file about 11 GB big (GT.VOL),it wont work when i transfer it with Filezilla to the PS3 :(
Should this method work?

or you could just hook up a ethnal cable to computer and then get flashFXP and transfer it

Note: you need to set up the connection between computer and ps3 look for tut Claps:black:

You fail you have to copy the game from external hdd to your PS3 for it to work.....

We even see on your pic that you have Killzone on your hdd0 to play it

Because you cant play SPLITTED files.....

THIS WILL NOT WORK ON AN EXTERNAL HDD. This is only for transferring to your internal HDD. In order for this to work you have to uncompress the PSARC file so that it creates a folder.

The reason i created this guide is so you could transfer killzone from pc to ps3 without the massively long tedious FTP transfer. Yes i do play killzone off my HDD because it beats USB Loading speeds easily.

Also just because killzone may not play from external dosent mean its because the files were split many games regardless of this do not play from external due to capped data transfer speeds.

No, it's because the files were split. It's gonna try to load a PSARC file, but it doesn't exist if the files are split. Like I said, if you want to play it off an external HDD, you have to extract the PSARC file. If you do that, you don't even have to transfer it to your ps3.
