Post: How To play Killzone 3 From USB HDD
02-16-2011, 12:39 PM #1
(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); The reason we need to do this is because Killzone 3 contains a file above 4GB in size as many of you will know you cannot put files above 4GB on A fat32 Usb Drive and because the ps3 dose not support ntfs this is the only way to transfer the files besides FTP in a way that multiMAN etc.. can read them.

Tested using 2D rip and multiMAN 1.15.00

1. Download OpenSplit 1.2 You must login or register to view this content.

2. Extract OpenSplit and run OpenSplit v1.2.jar

3. Click Split Big Files To .666xx
You must login or register to view this content.

4. Go to game folder e.g. BCES01007 select open
You must login or register to view this content.

5. It will begin to split the large file into 1 gb parts once at 100% quit OpenSplit
You must login or register to view this content.

6.Go to \BXXX-XXXXX\PS3_GAME\USRDIR\ it should now look like this:
You must login or register to view this content.

7.Copy the BXXX-XXXXX Folder to your GAMEZ Folder on Your External USB Drive.
You must login or register to view this content.

8. Enjoy

No, it's because the files were split. It's gonna try to load a PSARC file, but it doesn't exist if the files are split. Like I said, if you want to play it off an external HDD, you have to extract the PSARC file. If you do that, you don't even have to transfer it to your ps3.

Can you please tell us how to do that? Happy

Ok....so I have some questions about file splitting....I recently "aquired" the back up for "Agarest:Generations of War"...I know that one file in there is like 6 gigs...So I need to run a splitter to get it onto my external HDD...I tried using Split4G to accomplish this...It ran and moved the file to my F/GAMEZ/ folder on the HDD...multiMAN reads the game as there...but, when I try to start the game i get the loading indicator on the screen like it wants to start, but then I get black screen.....I have elready "fixed" permissions for this game in multiMAN and ran lv2 patch after transferring to internal as well...Any ideas?

Here Is Better Steps.
Step 1 Split It.
Step 2 Put It In Your Usb, (Not Root) Create Folder GAMES < Put In In There.
Step 3 Stat Mutliman And Have Fun,

Incorrect....internal uses /GAMES/......external is /GAMEZ/

I know this part is correct because multiMAN lets me load the game and then start from XMB....then i get the loading icon like the game is loading....then black screen and everything locks up...can even get back to XMB using PS button....Have to hard reset PS3 to get back out.
